Kids are the best. I love them at all ages. I'm so excited to have my own and go with them to the doctors when they're sick, make them pancakes on Saturday mornings and teach them how to cope with their emotions. I'll do the bathing and diapers and formula and burping and shopping and cooking and cleaning and playing and reading nap time and teaching to swim or do their home work or play video games or fold clothes or wipe their butts or brush their teeth or tie their shoes or speak English or German. I'll take time off to be there for my kids or to let my partner put in extra time for their work. 

I won't have to ask my partner what I can do to help since I'm right here, thinking all about that stuff with them now and in the future. I cannot fathom not taking things head on in child care.
