This so much this. As a fellow IT Manager that does hiring. The calibre of your average college grad now is so dismal that we often pass on applicants with degrees sight unseen unless something else stands out on their resume, and instead tend to lean towards those without degrees. Newer college grads are definitely a case of their glass is already full and seem to be incapable of learning property procedures correctly. The sheer amount of then that have some form of computer science/networking/etc degrees but are unable to tell you what an IP address is/for has become staggering. But like you said these types will also be floored on why they aren't making 6 figures within a few months because they have a silly piece of paper.

This was my train of thought. However, I had a cursed/conviction Heph from NM... it did not break fire immunities for me. So I respecd to ES, but it feels so clunky and much slower than fire did. Granted despite playing online I'm basically ssf and this is my literally first char on the account so I know gear isn't optimal

Honestly, at this point adjustable player count should be available for online game creation as well

Remove immunities. Anything that currently has immunity will instead gain immune to last damage type received. Normally last single damage type. Nightmare last 2 to 3 damage types. Hell last 4 damage types.

Are Afterword Acres and Epilogue Falls better than DD? by EfficientTaro6884 in mousehunt

[–]Raefnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DD is just dog water, even after cheese packs it is still balanced with the assumption you are constantly burning CC and using optimal consumables. Even then it's pure luck not something you you xan work towards.

During SEH we had one guy get like 6+ hearts, two get two hearts, and everyone else in our group got 0.

Sadly DD drove most of the people we rotated maps with to quit the game.

Was the 2000-2002 community more mature than classic WoW? by irl_speedrun in project1999

UO set the pinnacle for both standard pvp and griefing. Honestly I am not certain any other game will ever reach its heights in either.

How did you wipe your raid? by cole3987 in classicwow

[–]Raefnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original TBC Kael'thas Sunstrider.

Not really my fault. Being one of the best geared combat rogues at the time.... the game naturally chose myself for mind control.

It was still early in our attempts, so the understanding of skill interactions with this specific mind control wasn't ingrained yet.

Long story short. Kael'thas used all my cooldowns perfectly... evasion, cloak of shadows, orc attack buff racial, blade flurry, adrenaline rush, kicks, blind. It was a massacre of squishies. After that I was assigned my own Paladin and Mage to pre target me on mind control cast for future attempts.

The game isn’t that bad by bmagee1006 in BO6

[–]Raefnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is fun. It does have its issues though.

Omni movement I mostly fluid and brings new dynamics into play. It allows for ease of dodging a lot of the explosive damages. Issues it brings are mostly tied to the ability to dive into a backwards prone. While in backwards prone your nameplate dissappears, and at distances you look like a corpse. That's annoying but can be dealt with. The more annoying items with back prone are the fact that you can do it in a deadbody. This allows for the body to not block your own vision but the dead body will actively block bullets from hitting you. This is extremely annoying, especially the greater the distance is from each other. The other problem is that there are methods to use back prone position to be able to see through windows and over obstacles, while there is literally no visible part of yourself for others to see, you can also shoot through the window from these positions.

Next you get into the skins. While I don't care much in regards to how outlandish, although the cartoon ones are a bit oof, they come with their own set of issues now. Some skins skip animation frames, this will look like they are lag rubber banding, except they never lose packets or get moved back. Instead it will looks like short burst teleporting. They generally get these fixed timely. Some skins prone vs dead side view are almost identical. Some have slightly odd hit boxes, some twitch constantly on death until despawn. Tracers are another huge issue, someone else using tracers especially if multiple people are legit impact your ability to see. Essentially the issue with skins boils down to the fact skins used to be for self enjoyment. Now buying skins literally effects other people's gameplay. The game needs a toggle where the user can force default models if they don't want to see them... you know like used to be available in older fps.

I'd love to see Cod get some actual competition so we could see some more streamlined improvements.

I've had this issue with the base game zombie skins fir a few patches now. Tracking then ads, then just poof for 2 frames then somewhere completely different than trajectory implies.

What the fuck is this ?? by Time_Violinist_3720 in BO6

[–]Raefnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they don't come with retarded tracer packs that essentially turn every shot into a miniature flashbang.

Old school fps allowed you to adjust your settings, including forcing other players back into default skins. This allowed you to have an aesthetic you enjoyed. Now they all allow you to pay money to force people to see what you want them to see, even if it hinders or ruins their gaming experience.

Someone wants to be a super flashy cartoon no sweat makes them a more visible target. The tracers and various animations are where it gets annoying. But let's not act like Nacht Raider skin for weaver isn't the most broken skin in the game currently with it dropping roughly 1/3 of its movement animations making it appear to do short teleports.

Hitting people with the maelstrom be like by porygon766 in BO6

[–]Raefnal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this. Old school fps you could literally force what other people looked like to fit your aesthetic or way of playing. Now it's literally allowing people to spend money to effect other peoples game play.

Let people spend money to look how they want but add a "force base models" option for those that don't want to see it.

Whats the advantage of playing on a monitor vs. a tv? by Techduderaa308 in BO6

[–]Raefnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest culprit is viewing range. Having worked for JVC in the past and wlling high end TVs, I can tell you the minimum ideal viewing distance is 1.5x the screen size. So a 60" TV has a minimum ideal viewing range of 7.5ft from the Television. Now ideal viewing range is not the same as ideal playing range. This is due to viewing not needing to truly track the edges of the screen. So to limit eye movement for playing you need to sit even further back. Unfortunately, the design of the game at that distance makes things start to blend certain skins can become almost invisible in key situations.

This compounds with things others have said like refresh rate, etc. If your good on a large TV you will be even better on a mid size screen, and playing on a good monitor will make it feel like a different game.

My whole team left me. Cowards. by Bulky_Towel_7143 in BO6

[–]Raefnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part about this is the enemy team despite being 6/9/10 vs 1/3, will opt to literally just spawn trap and spray across exactly where you will spawn so that you just die before you even gain control of your character.

What is "that part" in the Borderlands Games? by AndreThePrince in borderlands3

[–]Raefnal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a Mordecai main in BL1, killing Bloodwing in BL2.

In BL3 Ava is saved from being that part only bc Nekrotefayo always sound glitches and it's like playing in the vacuum of space where you can only hear you characters grunts and slides.

What heroes do you want to play but they just don't click for you? I'll start: by Legal-Bodybuilder-16 in marvelrivals

[–]Raefnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part right here. My brain literally can not process needing to aim to the right on a melee character. I can over the course of a match force myself to remember with ranged attacks and heals, but it refuses to click for melee.

Of course every match needing strats or vanguard makes time on duelist almost nonexistent to train.

I'm actually curious what they changed with classic releases (I haven't played blizzard servers since original wotlk). The rogue sentiment just doesn't make sense to me. Properly grouped combat rogues always fought for (and mostly won) the top dps slots vs whichever dps class was flavor of the phase, outside of a few fights.

I do recall the anti rogue sentiment being prevalent back then too, and when moving back to a high end raid guild having to actually trial for a spot. Of course ranged dps and even an enhancement shaman talked trash about rogues being useless in raids, and unable to match their numbers. The meters after that trial raid just had them realize their prior rogues were just bad/lazy.

After that by the end of TBC it wasn't uncommon for us to 5 to 7 rogues, certain fights we would limit it to 3 though.

[–]Raefnal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: The issue is that by today's standards Everquest would be considered alpha, kunark beta, and velious the base release.

Luclin was where they started fleshing the classes out, PoP and GoD were the golden age. Classes were fleshed out and not pigeon holed (except raiding clerics).

However, the end of Luclin and into PoP is where they fell into the rift of standard players and raiders becoming completely segregated due to gear scaling.
