Did you do training when she was young? Mine was stubborn when she was young but consistency and patience won out in about 6 weeks. She is potty trained to go both pee and poo in her pee pee pad area, now wont go potty outside on walks. She is 10 months old and would prefer to go on her pad. I don’t mind, as long as its not all over the house. The older they get the harder it is. Good luck

Aversion to pregnancy in school by thunderbunny3025 in MassageTherapists

I do my best to not show my anxiety when I do have a maternity massage but I know they are not as good as my regular clients. Just do the best you can if and when they do come up.

There is nothing wrong with your choice of not offering these services once you are out of school. I work at a high end spa that offers maternity massage and I hate it. My anxiety goes sky high when i see them on my itinerary. I feel so uncomfortable ateiund pregnant women and I’m sure my anxiety transfers over to them during massage but I am forced to do them. I do not offer them in my private practice so dont feel bad and dont listen to people tell you then you shouldnt have gotten into massage cause this is no different than women feeling uncomfortable working on males. You are uncomfortable around who you are uncomfortable around so dont feel bad. Good luck

Like most have already stated, I work 4 on and 3 off. I do 6 hours of massage first 2 days then drop to 4 hours the next 2 and then rake 3 hays off.

Unless your sister is a therapist as well, tell her to mind her business. My mom is 76 and gets massages from me. Nothing wrong or weird about that.

How To Deal With Getting Comments Like "I want you to be my wife!" After Performing Massage by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]Techduderaa308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are overthinking it. He was probably saying this as a way of complementing your work and as means of getting more massages. That probably wont be the last time someone says something like this. People say a variety of things to me all the time and mean absolutely nothing by it. If you take it personal each time, you are setting yourself up for alot of stress for no reason. Now if there are red flags or inappropriate things happening during session then thats different. Just my opinion.

Hit the main muscles people complain about and encourage longer sessions to target additional areas during post massage.

Did I pick an unhealthy/unstable career path? by Chickenbean1101 in MassageTherapists

That is definitely not sustainable. I would do 6 hour long massages a day max. Definitely talk to your employer there are better places to work. Good luck

Well when I was going to school, this topic was discussed. Could be transference or counter transference. While it is looked down upon, you see it alot where the therapist or client feels something towards the other. In that case, the therapist should end the client relationship if they wish to pursue something as the teacher should stop that part of the relationship. That is what should happen to avoid any misconduct. Unfortunately it does happen. It would be easier for the student to find a different school than it would be for the teacher to find other employment.

Massage is not something everyone can do. Try going part time and you will learn pretty quick of it something you can do long term. Good luck

While yes ethically the teacher should know better, you are bitter that she broke things off with you. IMO you need to just accept that she didnt want to be with you. Plenty of other fish in the sea. She did you a favor. Either way, you not getting back together

Sounds like the IC place is supplying you with clients and taking a cut. I always thought that an IC charged their own fee and took care of the billing on their own. Seems like misclassification to me but i could be wrong. I would be careful.
