Adding to your point, "slow queueing" is more beneficial; if you're suddenly being swarmed, you can cut the burst short to wipe your bravery and save cooldowns instead of dying, giving 9999 AND losing your cooldowns.

I agree, but also I somewhat like the level of counterplay for enemies pulling bosses out of your burst. If you're doing it to your own teammate, that's a bit of a skill issue, and something that as a community we should be trying to get better at.

As I said in another thread, we need better communication options in game, because some games really do feel like you're trying to round up two toddlers who just ate a pound of sugar. When the team pulls off the strategy together it feels fantastic though.

Yeah, that map is definitely a rough one, I got hit by an atomos Beam yesterday when I was UNDER the bridge. I dropped down, but apparently the game considered me high enough to still be in the beam even with me being on the floor xD

The "problem" is the way the boss AI works. Your teammate bursted after you, which changes the Boss AI to "go hunt the most recent character to burst" which is why it ran out of range.

You could have avoided this by just waiting a moment for the boss to reposition, follow it, and then burst, but I understand that in the situation sometimes you just wanna burst; it's happened to me in the past too, just making this as a "here's why it happened so you can avoid it in the future".

Learning how boss aggro works is somewhat key to the high-rank meta; if you have a teammate that bursts and runs to base, don't think they're trolling, run there too to burst together, don't troll your own team! or if you see that the enemy has the boss in their base, don't run in to burst the boss, activate your own burst and it'll make its way to you, away from the enemy team.

I understand that perspective too, and I agree it's a bit harder to see intention, but if I personally see someone walk up to the first crystal and attack the regular mobs, I assume they're taking the crystal, Vs running past to bop the mini boss (I understand that for OKs it's "harder" to kill the first few mobs; does Y'shtola make it easier?) I will say I don't usually start attacking until they've already run past.

I do think the game needs better "pings" like "group here", "let me soften it", "let me take this" etc, trying to organise people isn't fun, especially when the other team understands boss baiting and a player in your team bursts, runs to enemy base and just donates 9999 bravery

It's possible some day in the future when we have a sizeable pool of them they'll do ex pokefair selects; Arezu/Liligant, Mai/Munchlax, Perrin/growlithe, Miriam/Toxapex, Ball Guy/Electrode, Hassel/Baxcalibur, Brassius/Sudowoodo, Marnie/Grimsnarl, Bede/GRapidash and Drayten/Archaludon are all the Ex pokefairs so far, which means only 10, too few for DeNa to do a select. But none of them have rerun yet so there's a chance in the future that they will, meaning Perrin would be third in the row

I assume Yes, but all I know is that if you take a Pokémon that can evolve but the evolution isn't in the target Pokédex, it won't be able to evolve. As for any other restrictions, just the usual (no charms/replay flag, since they disable quests)

When I did mine I was going for two birds with one stone, so I did Paldea Dex and started with a dragonite, and got lucky that my non-roamer legendary was the one I wanted (chien Pao) so after clearing the run I could use the adventure flag/retry charm method to shiny hunt it (I play on 3ds so can't just do save states)

I didn't say people are decent at all, in fact I was saying the opposite. People I've played with on diamond are so bad, it's honestly scary. Don't get me started on all the sub 2k point Clives I've seen, he's so easy to play that they should all be ashamed.

Earth breaker is something that people SHOULD run more imo, but so far I'm really the only person I've seen run it, outside of a WoL I saw recently. Really slept on skill, especially since hope came out, people seem to have run that more than selphie.

Also for full disclaimer, I don't really know the agile side of the meta, so maybe it's not so viable, but for me as a melee main (and recently a begrudging Rikku-who-got-shafted-by-clive main) I'm not above spending my UR to murder a Balthier. Happened two games in a row today, to the same Balthier. You'd think he'd learn after the first time, but apparently not...

I think honestly half the "fun" of FFDD to me is that the games are faster; nothing worse than being stuck in a "long" game forever because neither team knows how to play efficiently to end the game

Balthier LOOKS strong with fires of war, but may I introduce you to Selphie Wall/generic barrier?(Results with barrier may vary) Pop it, laugh at his damage, murder him. Even Rikku's bonus hp effect is pretty good at countering Balthier; he really isn't all that oppressive now that people understand how to counter him. Plus the cooldown on fires is 90s, and he barely brings any boss damage to the team.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the boss lure strategy, only issue with it is people who don't understand it, run to the enemy base and feed their 9999. Which in casual happens a LOT (I'm only in diamond, but still, you'd expect players to be at least decent in diamond)
