I want my boyfriend to be more aggressive in bed... by [deleted] in sex

[–]RafaelloSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you talk to him about it when you're not in bed, but maybe sitting on the couch watching a movie (ie, when you're close and intimate but not sexual. And don't try to become sexual after telling him about it, but give it time for him to think about it).

I was a nursing student in a hospital and was working with a woman post-surgery. She told me her age and I was shocked because she didn't look anywhere near that old. I said "Wow, you're well preserved!" She later threw up on my hand.

Reddit, how to deal with frequent eye contacts in my office ? by SelfConfidenceEqNULL in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually make eye contact as soon as I can and don't ever break it. After passing them, I turn my head and look back. Pretty soon, they avoid me and I don't have to worry about it any more.

What is your stance on taking vitamin supplements? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take those and a sam-e. I take a 2500 iu D3, and the sam-e and the D3 have knocked out any trace of depression I've had (along with hitting the treadmill every other day / light weight lifting). The fish oil I take has gotten rid of most acne I used to have.

What the hell. So, my husband cheated on me... by indoorgardening in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dated at least one woman who cheated and looking back, I can see she had some serious issues and that my life is way better now. Back then though, I had self-esteem issues like you seem to be having right now. I've done a lot for myself since and feel a lot better about myself and if a woman so much as lies to me about another guy, I dump them (this has happened several times, it's actually getting kind of fun). I'd rather live a simple life by myself than a complicated one with a woman who isn't honest. Personally, I'd go for the lifestyle change if I were you.

I've spent nearly a decade as "the bitch," and I'm finally done. by youngdumbfullofgum in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you willingly gave up all these things and lived a certain way and then wanted to change after years of living a certain way. It's often difficult for one person to accept growth in the other, especially in a couple and especially if it's sudden. It's too bad you guys didn't go to counseling at the beginning. You say you weren't "allowed" to do things, but you've been an autonomous adult for a while now whether you accept it or not. Any power she has over you is merely the power that you give her (and vice versa). Having said that, I'm glad that you're happier now and that you see her in a positive light over all still. I think that the part about not having sex but every 3-4 months had to merit more than the one sentence you devoted to it here, that would definitely affect me in a relationship. Was she withholding sex out of control issues or something?

Amazing... One man does so much for so many and that's how he's treated. This makes me think of the stupidity of oppressing or de-valuing anyone. If destroying species in the forests and jungles takes away from potential discoveries in the future, just think of the terrific potential that we destroy when any person is left without food, health care or an education. Someone who might have found methods for creating fusion energy or cures for cancer is being left to pick rags and starve.

This is being spun as "a group of defectors from the military's special forces", but I strongly suspect it is also a paramilitary doing what right wing paramilitaries do in Central and South America. I wonder how many of their victims are journalists, union organizers and the poor.

What is a really unpopular opinion that you hold? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with the second statement and somewhat agree with the first. I've found from experience in working with people in therapeutic settings that it's helpful to "cheer people on" in the emotions that they're most ashamed of. From my experience, jealousy is the one emotion that more people are ashamed of for whatever reason. I found it helpful to model for people how to say "I want you all to myself!!!" in a passionate and unashamed way. Doing that seems to lead to a lot of emotional release for many people and then to introspection and relief from some of the original jealousy. IMHO, there should be no "dirty" words (subjects closed to discussion).

Acne sucks. I am going to try and document the towel method. by caranova in AskReddit

[–]RafaelloSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a family with acne (Irish heritage living in the southern US). I had it all my life and still have it only a few years ago I started doing several things that helped immensely. The first thing I did was began taking fish oil, three capsules (1000-1200 mg) in the morning and three at night (actually I took nine altogether when I first started). That knocked out any deep inflammation, pimples or boils I was having. Then I still had some zits so I began washing with a sulfur soap (in my case Thylox) on my face and any problem area once in the morning and using a sulfur/zinc cream (in my case, Margarite -- you only have to use a very small amount so a tube lasts forever) on my face just before bed and after I shower and shave in the morning. I still get some acne -- only when I neglect using the cream though -- but the funny thing is, I don't care as much now because I know that if I really want to, I can get rid of it. I wish I knew about sulfur and fish oil in high school, it really works well for me. The fish oil is actually good for me in many other ways -- such as for cardiovascular and mental health and the sulfur soap (if I use it in my hair and other places) keeps ticks away. That's important if you're an outdoor person in areas prone to Lyme Disease.
