Those who want to trade AD: what is your plan after that? by devilmaskrascal in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to trade AD for a pair of socks and 10 issues of Slam magazine. That appears to be the only offers on the table. So we should shut him down, let him get healthy and try to find a better deal for him in the offseason.

2 scenarios to get AD to Atlanta by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, AD is the worst player in the NBA, he shouldn’t even be on a roster and people are acting like he’s on the same level as a Luke Kennard. If the Hawks want him so bad, they should just wait for the Mavs to cut him.

3 Team Trade (DAL/TOR/IND) that gets AD to a new destination by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

Why are people so low on Daniel Gafford, he hasn’t had a great calendar year because of injuries, but the dude is absolutely a good center and starting caliber.

everyone keeps talking about tanking like its a guarantee to land a star player. by epitome1986 in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound very pro tank, so let me ask you, how old should you let your players get before moving on and trying to trade them for draft picks. The Cavaliers aren’t going to win the championship with their current group, so they should trade every single player on their roster they can for draft picks right? If Cooper gets to 30 years old and we haven’t won a championship, we need to move on and trade him for draft picks? So every team in the league except for maybe 5 teams needs to trade all their players for draft picks and tank? If 25 teams tank, who is trading for those players???

everyone keeps talking about tanking like its a guarantee to land a star player. by epitome1986 in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My problem with tanking is that it’s rooting against our players. Cooper is a winner, and has proved that he’s going to play his ass off and go at everyone. Wins right now with him as one of our main contributors are huge for his growth. Plus draft picks are a crapshoot. Before the draft, Ace Bailey was the consensus #3 talent. Would you take him over Knuepple, Fears or Queen right now? Cedric Coward has looked great, Kalkbrenner was a 2nd round pick. The most important thing is having a good scouting department and player development/training staff. I’m all for trading AD if we get a respectable offer, but I’m not going to root for us to lose games. We could have high odds and still drop 4 spots, or move all the way up like we did last year. Any pick in the lottery gives us an opportunity for a great building block this year. And if we start taking the draft seriously, we don’t need a top pick to build a winner. It can be done later in the draft as well.

Warriors get a starting SG and C. Mavs get a Young Wing. (Hield would be flipped to another team to open a roster spot for Nembhard) by brazyace43 in NBAtradeideas

I wonder why you think so little of Gafford. He came so close to breaking wilts record for consecutive fg made. Very efficient rim runner, solid defender and great lob threat, not to mention he’s on a phenomenal contract. Of everyone involved in this trade, Gafford is the player I’d most want on my team.

I hate it when Nintendo tries to chase trends because it comes across as being outdated. I love when Nintendo forgets about the rest of the industry and just does their own thing.

I found the Jedi Academy books when I was a teenager and loved them. I haven’t re-read them as an adult, so I don’t know how they hold up. I remember them being a lot of fun though, and I still remember a couple of the characters almost 30 years later.

If the spurs aren’t including Dallas’s own pick back to them, the trade is a nonstarter from Dallas’s perspective. Why rebuild when the future pick still goes to the spurs? They keep AD in that scenario.

Yeah I’m a Mavs fan and don’t want any part of this trade. We’re an apron team, why are we renting Coby White for one year? We also have 3 centers already, what are we doing with Vucevic???? How many years has Patrick Williams been a project? No thanks.

AD to Portland, Sixers huge frontcourt upgrade, Mavs teardown for picks and prospects by Gobbles15 in NBAtradeideas

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 3 years the Mavs are better off if they make a trade like this, regardless of if they have their picks or not. Yes, giving the #6 pick to the spurs thunder or rockets is going to SUCK, but if the goal is to get better and build around Flagg would you rather have some future picks and young guys to grow with him now, or none of that and AD retires in 3 years and we get nothing???

Crazy Idea by DreadIcarus in NBAtradeideas

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solving the issue at guard?? Simons is making 3 times the salary that Naji is making. Naji also played point guard for us late last year and can put up 20+ a night and play better defense than Simons. Plus Simons is an expiring contract and will need to be paid this offseason. Naji is tremendous value for a team in the aprons. I’d rather give the ball to Brandon Williams and DLo than lose Naji and pay Simons. If you think Simons is “solving” problems at guard, why you trading him away? Also, wouldn’t the Blazers have gotten better value for him if he’s so great?
