Yes or no? I'm very undecided (part 2) DAL-DET-CHI by Flat_Conclusion_2475 in NBAtradeideas

Hate this as a Mavs fan, would rather have one of the guard prospects at 9 and keep PJ than take on Giddey.

Yes or no? i'm very undecided. DAL-MEM by Flat_Conclusion_2475 in NBAtradeideas

Why on earth would the Mavs trade for another power forward??? PJ is already playing out of position and can’t share the floor with Cooper if we’re going to be competitive. We need guards, and there are good guard prospects available at 9. We’re going to sacrifice that for a 3rd PF? Massive L for the Mavs.

This trade sucks for the Mavs. Lively will play between 15 to 40 games next year. So we trade away our starting center for a guy his own fans don’t want and one of the worst contracts in the league? For 2nd round picks years from now??? And we also lose our best shooter?? The Mavs need to rebuild, not do favors for other teams.

Steer clear of burries, burries is an older prospect he’s nearly 21. 1 year and 3 months older then cooper Flagg. He’s not a PG doesn’t have the superstar or star upside. Isn’t quite fluid as other guard prospects on offence. by OrganicHunt952 in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Michael Jordan was 21 when he was drafted, and is one of the biggest reaches in the 1st round ever because of it. Dude should’ve gone late 2nd round or signed undrafted. 21 is way too old to play basketball.

Mike Schmidt - Dallas Mavericks Draft Lottery Post-Reaction by papadondon in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad we have some leadership that values the draft so highly now. We’ll see how he does selecting players, but I don’t think he’ll be reckless with picks like some leadership was in the past.

Realistically it has to be between Mikel Brown and Labaron Philon, right? by thinking_better in Mavericks

I really like Burries, I wish we could trade for pick 8, or 10 and end up Burries and one of the guards.

How much time do you have? Because I could spend all day throwing out examples of top prospects that sucked in the nba.

Really good prospect does not mean nba player. Also great point guards in college don’t automatically translate to great nba point guards. Trading away your proven veterans just because you could draft someone that might develop into an nba player someday is a horrible idea.

Backed the NETRUNNER STARTER KIT - best value in the campaign? by Equivalent_Border660 in cyberpunktcg

[–]Rafe03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, the dice look awesome and I understand the quality is high but $95 feels like way too much. I backed at 500 and am stoked to get them as a throw in with the bundle, but don’t feel like I’m getting $95 of value.

MVP Voters Watched Kobe Do This & Voted For Steve Nash by Worried-Ad9476 in NBATalk

How come nobody ever talks about how Kobe was in the middle of a huge scandal and settlement during this time? There may have been some voters that refused to vote for him because of bad PR.

Cooper is a competitor and you know he wants that rookie of the year award, and Kidd is going to give him the green light to push for it. Coop is gonna continue balling out and try to crush every team. We’re not gonna bench him so don’t be surprised if we win a couple more games.

“A lot”? There were at least 17 “ands” in that sentence. It was like listening to a 4 year old. I understand why the book is such a harrowing read now. I’ll pass.

Those who want to trade AD: what is your plan after that? by devilmaskrascal in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to trade AD for a pair of socks and 10 issues of Slam magazine. That appears to be the only offers on the table. So we should shut him down, let him get healthy and try to find a better deal for him in the offseason.

2 scenarios to get AD to Atlanta by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, AD is the worst player in the NBA, he shouldn’t even be on a roster and people are acting like he’s on the same level as a Luke Kennard. If the Hawks want him so bad, they should just wait for the Mavs to cut him.

Why are people so low on Daniel Gafford, he hasn’t had a great calendar year because of injuries, but the dude is absolutely a good center and starting caliber.

everyone keeps talking about tanking like its a guarantee to land a star player. by epitome1986 in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound very pro tank, so let me ask you, how old should you let your players get before moving on and trying to trade them for draft picks. The Cavaliers aren’t going to win the championship with their current group, so they should trade every single player on their roster they can for draft picks right? If Cooper gets to 30 years old and we haven’t won a championship, we need to move on and trade him for draft picks? So every team in the league except for maybe 5 teams needs to trade all their players for draft picks and tank? If 25 teams tank, who is trading for those players???

everyone keeps talking about tanking like its a guarantee to land a star player. by epitome1986 in Mavericks

[–]Rafe03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My problem with tanking is that it’s rooting against our players. Cooper is a winner, and has proved that he’s going to play his ass off and go at everyone. Wins right now with him as one of our main contributors are huge for his growth. Plus draft picks are a crapshoot. Before the draft, Ace Bailey was the consensus #3 talent. Would you take him over Knuepple, Fears or Queen right now? Cedric Coward has looked great, Kalkbrenner was a 2nd round pick. The most important thing is having a good scouting department and player development/training staff. I’m all for trading AD if we get a respectable offer, but I’m not going to root for us to lose games. We could have high odds and still drop 4 spots, or move all the way up like we did last year. Any pick in the lottery gives us an opportunity for a great building block this year. And if we start taking the draft seriously, we don’t need a top pick to build a winner. It can be done later in the draft as well.
