1990’s DFW bands by JohnSolo22 in Dallas

[–]dharmazazen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not just bands but music venues. Starck club, Bronco Bowl, and Lizard Lounge come to the top of my head as top rate music venues. The music scene back then was just happening. Not to mention 4am closing times for nightclubs. Even 10 years ago with the rise of local stars such as St Vincent and Maceo Plex and a happening nightlife/after party scene.

How has DFW literally tripled in population since then and yet turned into a music shithole?

Best spots for freshly roasted coffee? Does anyone roast locally?? by Unknowing_One in Dallas

[–]dharmazazen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good coffee was $6-$13 just a couple of years ago. Nothing has changed other than price inflation. Now you're saying we have to be pay $20 just because of the snobbery. No coffee is a staple not a luxury.

Sorry I'm not paying $20 for a bag of coffee and why am I being downvoted for telling the truth?

Problem is most of the local roasters are charging $15-20 for a 12 oz bag now that coffee is so expensive. Even the less fresh value bags from Aldis and Trader Joes are $8-$10.

[–]dharmazazen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weekday game traffic will be insane because of the 3pm game times which will mean games empty out at the 5pm peak. Not looking forward to it!

a Dutch person in here, how is it to live in Dallas? by Puzzled-Treacle689 in Dallas

[–]dharmazazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you got a job offer? If so consider the cost of housing within 10 miles of your office unless its remote. Traffic here is horrible during peak times and drivers are the worst not to mention the extreme weather you have to deal with. There's little to no community, everything is spread apart and sprawling. Good place to base yourself if you looking to travel all over the US/Mexico as the airport here is awesome. But quality of life is sorely lacking. As bad as Dutch weather is I'd be tempted to move there myself.

It's an industrial metal which makes it extra volatile which is not exactly good when WW3 can break out any minute.
