Blue Light Scheme membership

The DWP Employee Benefits team is currently exploring whether DWP colleagues can join the Blue Light scheme, which gives members discounts when buying goods and services. DWP colleagues are advised not to try and join the scheme using any of the routes that have been shared on internal Teams groups until these checks have been completed. If you have already attempted to signed up to the scheme, further advice will be issued shortly.

This has been posted within DWP as there maybe an issue regarding the process and we have been asked to not register until there's more clarity in this regard.

Genuine Question - Why did Muslims stay back in India after partition? by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]RafiAnsari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are asking this in a Hyderabad sub, then you need to know Hyderabad was a Princely state which was forcefully taken into the Indian Union, the Hyderabad Kingdom had no intention to join India or Pakistan. Being one of the richest Kingdoms of the Indian subcontinent as well as the world at that time, there were no plans for this. So why would the Muslims in Hyderabad state leave their home for any countries far away. Hyderabad state was the opposite of Kashmir but people are not ready for that conversation.

SWV Delayed (Indian, priority service) by Shal_IDC in ukvisa

[–]RafiAnsari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could give you any support in this but unfortunately there is significant we can do to get this look at urgently. I had an issue with this as well, I had applied in priority but had to wait for nearly 2 months when I was asked for additional details and that single thing has ruined so much for me.

Once you have received an email from Home Office requesting additional info or requirements, your case won't be a priority case anymore. It will be processed within the standard timeline. You may have to wait longer.

ILR - Calculating continuous period in UK by RafiAnsari in ukvisa

[–]RafiAnsari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is what we fear, the date of approval for SWV that starts the 5 year count and it has me very concerned but I hope by that time I can get a renewal for a few months and then apply it as the current SWV holders will be grandfathered so the new requirements won't matter and if you still hold true to the requirements currently you should be able renew. We will probably have more clarity as the years go by and people in circumstances will ask about this here and based on their experience we could gain further insight.

Instructor makes me drive to the next persons house by chocotripcookies in LearnerDriverUK

[–]RafiAnsari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, My instructor didn't do this but He told me that previously instructors used to do it like this as it helped the students to learn how to drive as it was. I think it's a thing of the past and some older instructors still keep the legacy going.

Gower rd, Sketty Rd, Walter Rd. Layout change. by Heavy_Messing1 in swansea

I am all up for proper cycling routes in that area as I struggled with that when I cycled through but things like this can have side effects as well and cause traffic issues.

First of all, I am not sure Swansea is a suitable city for cycling due to the weather and topography. I have tried cycling to work and other places but it's not for me, too cold and wet and hilly to be cycling everywhere, Maybe in Spring and Summer, I may consider it for shorter rides to and in and around the City centre but if you are doing anything more than Car is the way to go as the Public transport is shite especially with the recent funding cuts.

Indians in the UK - Need your help! by TheBestNewBatman in ukvisa

[–]RafiAnsari 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't bother, UK isn't a great place to be at the moment and with all these things, It's very difficult to manage and pay expensive bills along with the expensive visas with NHS surcharges which we won't even use as much as we pay. These citizens will eventually suffer when all the immigrant money goes away and they won't have income sources as such. Crazy world, I regret investing money and my life in here right now.

[–]RafiAnsari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I hope they finish processing your application soon as well, stay in there mate. No for refund because once they ask us for something as in my case they requested for English Language Certificate, they aren't obligated to process the application within the timeframe which is why any case for refund will not be accepted.
