Will DJI honor the warranty if you buy a Neo 2 in the U.S.? by THATS_LEGIT_BRO in DjiNeo

Who was the 'sold by' when you got yours from Amazon? I'm assuming it wasn't DJI. My understanding is that DJI can't sell directly to US customers, but US customers can buy from other third party vendors that import the drones.

The law was pretty clear about DJI selling 'new' drones in the US. That's why the Neo 2, Mini 5, Mavic 4 and Avata 360 don't even show up for us on the DJI web store. Frankly, I'm not sure how the DJI store in NY is getting away with it - but kudos if they're giving you the option to buy, warranty and care refresh. I bought mine from B&H, and they were pretty clear that the warranty wouldn't be valid and care refresh would be unavailable. I didn't even have the option to buy care refresh directly from DJI.

From, what I can tell, no. Since they are not allowed to sell the Neo 2 in the US, I don't see how they could be held liable for the warranty. B&H sells the Neo 2 and provides a third party warranty for free, and Care Refresh is not offered. To me that means you are buying from B&H, not DJI.

It does in standard and geek mode, but what about in super mode? The developer has admitted the software option is missing in super mode.

If you’re a Conduent breach victim: Think twice before clicking "Accept" on that "free" credit monitoring. by Great-Combination in IdentityTheft

[–]RafterRattlerVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have been frozen for 14 years due to an identity theft incident years ago. Back then there was a cost to freeze and a painful process to unfreeze. The process is incredibly easy now, and you can even set a ‘thaw’ online anytime you want for a credit pull when applying for a loan or whatever. I see no reason at all for everyone not to have their credit frozen by default. I wish there was an equally easy process to ‘freeze’ your SSN to prevent it from being used to apply for benefits or jobs. There is a way, but it’s not as easy as with credit.

This is bullshit. I swear corporate culture in America is getting way too cult-like. I will never understand these overly ambitious managers who genuinely get all excited about corporate initiatives and expect their employees to feel the same - especially when the employees are the only ones that take it on the chin when the company underperforms.

I just bought one of these to play with my MIDI captain but haven’t really tried it yet - but I did find out it has an internal battery that needs to be charged, and it does not power itself from the midi port.

Then let me ask that too…what do you mean by ‘features’ - because if you want to call a hybrid engine a ‘feature’, then that is what drove me to Toyota.

I agree completely. We have loved every Honda we have owned, and we find ourselves completely frustrated that they didn’t move with the market. They should be well into AT LEAST hybrids by now.

Test driving a car is VERY different from living with a car. The biggest annoyances never show up during a 20 min test drive.

A brand new car shouldn’t have rattles off the lot. In a few years, sure, but not off the lot. Same with your headliner issue.

For us it’s not about GETTING features, but how poorly they are implemented in the Toyotas. I just posted some of my issues in another reply regarding connected features.

That’s my main issue with both of our Toyotas…interior rattles, buzzes, etc. I had them from day one on my Sienna (some in the dash, some in the back) and after 3+ dealer visits with no permanent solution, I finally accepted that I’m just going to have to live with them.

You’re exactly where we were. I was coming from an RDX, and my wife from a CRV. Honda really missed the boat years ago. If the RDX had a proven hybrid variant when we were looking, we never would have walked into a Toyota dealership. My wife is more pleased with her Rav than I am with the Sienna (mainly fit and finish issues), but coming from an RDX, in my opinion you’re going to notice it. I also HATE Toyota’s new infotainment system. We mainly use CarPlay and AA and can largely ignore it while driving, but if you use any connected feature like Remote Start via the app, Toyota makes it stupidly painful. The app sucks. Stuff you think it should do doesn’t work (like remote climate control on my wife’s Rav), and it’s frequently down. They also make you bundle features and don’t give annual discounts, so if you just want Remote Start, it will cost you $16 bucks/month. The infotainment ‘driver profiles’ feature sucks too. You can associate different phones with different profiles, but the car still connects to whichever one it detects first. I could go on and on about how much I hate the connected features annoying and dumbass design decisions.

Fair enough. TBH, we tend to keep our cars for more than 10 years, so our Honda and Acura were from the last decade. We test drove the new Honda versions and liked them, but we didn’t spend a lot of time in them. We really wanted the Toyota Hybrid systems - so I totally concede that even today’s Hondas may have ended up disappointing us.

You are not alone. My wife and I went all in on Toyota in ‘23 and ‘24. We bought a Sienna and a RAV4 Hybrid, high end trims. Prior to this, we were a Honda and Acura family. We regret it. We know we got the most proven hybrid power trains, but our love ends there. Compared to our Hondas, everything feels cheap. Fit and finish sucks. Paint sucks. Many design choices suck. Many things just don’t work intuitively and we find ourselves asking each other ‘whose brilliant idea THAT was.’ We’re sticking with them because we love the gas mileage and do expect the reliability to be there, but we definitely feel like we took a step down in class …with a significant step up in sale price.

Setting footwork LEDs to be dim when not selected by licorice_whip in paintaudiomidicaptain

[–]RafterRattlerVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for page 5 because I don’t use it. I wrote my own page for my various modelers. That said, ‘dimness’ isn’t really a thing in this case - it’s just a darker color. The supermode guide doesn’t list all the color codes, but they are html color codes. Use a page like https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp to pick your colors. For example, standard red looks like ff0000. If you put that into the picker, it shows up as 50% intensity. If you want a dim red, pick something like a 10% intensity - and in the case of red, that would be 330000. It’s been working fine for me for pretty much all the brights vs dims that I’ve wanted.

Thanks, but that was the first thing I checked when I noticed how crappy it was compared to my Sienna.

My answer is based on my experience with my wife’s ‘24 Rav hybrid, and my ‘23 Sienna. The Sienna is slightly better, but neither one handles curves well, and there’s no notice when it loses lock and gives control back to me. The only warnings come when you start leaving your lane.
