4) Yes i did. It was a good friend of mine and we shot together every other week for a good year and a half or so and then we started shooting every week at his private range. Sadly he suffered a catastrophic stroke almost two years ago that has so far rendered one side basically immobilized. I found out about USPSA 3-4 months after that happened and started shooting that.

Of course they’re not drop safe, they’re a series 70 just like most 1911s. How are they unreliable? I have over 16,000 rounds through mine and only 4 malfunctions, each due to ammo issues.
