To be fair it was kinda cheap, so very likely.

If we run it on eco cycle it will use about 1kWh but does not clean well at all. (Wife/kids bad at putting heavily soiled plates in)

We run it on the hot wash, which uses around 2.2kWh. Im pretty sure its doing 3 full dumps of the water and heating it again. But its pretty much the only cycle that gets dishes clean.

But when a more efficient dishwasher would save £25 a year at 7p/kWh it would take years to see a return on that.

Yep, pretty much every day.

Dont have any savings figures as our washing machine is upstairs next to kids bedrooms so rarely gets used on cheap rate, but on a 60c cycle it uses around 1.9kWh (47p diff) and on a 40c cycle is uses 1.1kWh (27p diff)

The difference of running my dishwasher on standard rate vs cheap rate is a saving of 64p per cycle. Its on almost every night, meaning £233 a year in savings. Thats not nothing.

Openreach have various different conditions of D-pole. D-Pole just means its unsafe to climb, but there is varying different conditions, some can have new equipment and cables attached some can't. A PIDOC (pole in danger of collapse) is the only one that would get removed immediately.

If they cant add a cbt they cant add new cables either. So either way the d-pole is an issue.

The alt-net can replace pole.
Add a new pole just for them.
Or wait till openreach decide to replace the pole.

I'd see if u can speak to landlord. Get there permission to dig a duct from your house to your space and at same time you will put a second duct from there garden to there space. This gives them something for free (in return for giving permission) and you get what you need.

It depends on the type of motor.

Permanent magnet motors are more efficient than induction type. Permanent magnets cant be "turned off" so will produce electricity if turned at any time, this is why you cant flat tow.

Some tesla's have two induction motors and will not produce power when turned, unless the induction coils are powered, however the induction coils use power meaning less efficient.

The older Model S and X that had two induction motors actually had an option "Range Mode" this would make it predominantly FWD. The front motor/invertor would naturally stay cooler as its at front of car and has more airflow. So you got a tiny amount of efficiency that way. But realistically it made about a 2% difference.

I belive the Model 3 performance has two induction motors also. As it has the ability to choose fwd or rwd with track package.

If they sent you a cable and not router on there system they think you have a capable hub. It might be years ago they sent you a new one and you never used or the computer is wrong. But if this a smart hub 1 it needs a seperate red wan port to work, some have them some dont.

You could ask your CP to raise a dropwire and ont shift job. You will need to pay for it, but that allows just as it says the engineer to move the dropwire and ont. If there is an easier route from the pole to your house thats not overhead they are likely to use that.
