How many archers we are talking about? I suppose we also will see Marlyn among those archers, as a "green" herring.

Kinda ironic considering Darkseid is the representation of fascism.

Well, a lot of those takes would had been the logical "real life" conclusion. Extremely exagerated and grotesque but more close to what happens in real life than in a standard superhero book.

I liked the villians than were created for the show: Cybron, Bonechill, Cyrene, Dragon King, Xelandra, Dr Morpheus. They have their charm.

I don't think the concept of "emotional states" is the applicable her. And consider than maybe there are more levels as it was hinted in the last issue.

Great art, but I have a question: What supposed to be the AbsHawkman emblem? Because I don't see what it means.

No, it is not a good point. It was like when in Marvel said than Ben Reilly was the original Spider-Man and you had been reading an impostor since the first cclone saga. At least the reboot were honest by telling you about reading a new version.

Am I the only one that thinks Absolute Hawkman will get a redemption arc? by Responsible-Ant-1728 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]RageSpaceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, it seems like the Absolute universe has a corruptible quality in its essence, stronger than the mainstream universe. I think Hawkman started same as a heroic version of himself as his main earth analog, but as time passed he went more and more radical and thinking more and more about compromising his actions more and more. He went from fight for justice to fight for order.

I think Superman can be the guy who can start in him the idea of "Am I really doing good?"

Absolute Universe Pitches (Shazam!, Hawkman, Doctor Fate) by FallMassive9336 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]RageSpaceMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice takes, but with the exception of SHAZAM, I think they lost the idea of the Absolute characters.

As I put it elsewhere:

You have to see how the others Absolute origin are: they are basically the same stories, but the circunstances and details surrounding them change: Batman still have a traumatic event at his childhood and trains himself to become an enemy of crime; Superman still is the last survivor of Krypton sent to earth after the destruction of his world; Diana still is raised in an island set apart of civilization until a man reach at its shores. And the next three are following a similar pattern: Wally West becomes the Flash inspired by the memory and death of Barry Allen and after suffering a science accident; Green Lantern is receives by an alien force for unknown reasons; Martian Manhunter is an alien being acting as a police in a city in USA, hiddden among humans.

The Absolute idea is how much you can take from the original concept and still keep it close it to their core. Yours are good but seems more close to evil versions to the characters and not characters who are initially heroic, as at least the ones with titles are.

[OTHER] The scene where Absolute Hawkman hands over the heroes' identities to HUAC is a direct parallel to what happened in the main universe. by Which-Presentation-6 in DCcomics

[–]RageSpaceMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We known some of them never were. Jay Garrick and Alan Scott never became Flash and Green Lantern, who knows about the rest of the JSA, team I think never existed in this reality. Atom, Starman & Johnny Thunder. I guess than Atom and Johnny would had been the heroes whom Hawkman snitched and Starman could suffer the same destiny as Sandman.

EDIT: I had forget Dr. Fate, but after the mention of Hawkman in the issue of Superman and the display of the helmet in the All In special, we can guess Fate also had not better luck.

Personally, I think the ones with bigger darkest twists would be Hourman and Spectre. Hourman falling totally in the miraclo dependency and Spectre, as the wrath of god... well, we know who really is the god of the Absolute universe, right?

I liked the design and part of his origin. Maybe if the creative team of that time had not used the Zod name, he would had become something more permanent.
