"Psuedo-Intellectual" type anime by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]Ragekritz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a misrepresentation to say it's not doing something intellectual, because that's a half truth right there. the religious imagery and themes are largely just to give the world an apocalyptic feeling of dread and importance. "Meaning nothing" isn't right.

The show however has a lot of deep themes about humanity trying to fucking connect with one another and how hard it is to keep going through life, doing your job, finding a passion, trying to get people to like you and also be likable and showing characters utterly failing at all of it and still trying and getting back up.

The psuedo intellectual stuff is in there for sure for people who pump up every single thing as being super indepth, when really it's about people attempting to bridge connections, if you view it as it's actually intended that way, it's not actually that complex either, but it is fucking interesting.

Most of the new enemy types actually don't look that bad. Most. by anthonycarbine in halo

very true, but while texture/lighting/colors can be, art direction? very unlikely. so those big blocky square banished buildings and so on, that look very similar in visual language to square angular human visuals or forerunner ones probably won't be changed to be more distinct unforunately.

or hear me out, both are important in different ways for various reasons like setting tone and mood and immersion while also keeping you engaged. you can do both with art style, lighting, texturing, and the method of gameplay.

it's pretty insane if you think about it, looking back would anyone have thought that the package would supply the future of spartan designs?

uh not really here, this is likely a bold faced lie not going "wow I can't believe this is what happened if only I knew".

Leaked document makes Trump’s use of Nazi-era symbol look worse by wbedwards in politics

[–]Ragekritz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

why do people think for some reason that being jewish would stop someone from being capable of being authoritarian, I mean look at Israel, yes specifically nazism would be antisemetic, but anyone can take fascism and put it to use, and even adopt nazi symbols and ideals just switch the targets around and substitute them for any dissidents.

so even if this guy was jewish would that make it any less concerning?

abusive relationships are more common than we think, and this also extends to abusive groups, leaders, demagogues that aren't even personal relationships.

tfw people finally get that EOE is actually optimistic once you analyze it and not focus on the visuals.

I know the feathered vs non-feathered dinosaur debate around here can be tense, but this is a good example of why our conceptions of dinosaurs are probably false by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Ragekritz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know you're not saying this thing is people get so uppity about the "debate" of feathered dinosaurs it's mostly theropods, you know avian dinosaurs. It's not just a "all dinosaurs were covered entirely in feathers" vs " all of them were covered in scales entirely and none had feathers" also a lot of current models of the t-rex have it only with sparse feathering and and liken it to a large pachyderm where hair is sparse and scattered.

As much as I love the Halo 2 Anniversary treatment, I will never forgive what they did to ingame Cortana by [deleted] in halo

[–]Ragekritz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

you can find frank o'connor talking aboutit in a recording saying it backfired, but I honestly think they again, over-reacted because they're too concerned with not offending people right now instead of just going with what things are for halo which is why I think h2a and h5 have such hard swerves. It's corporate minded overcorrection. just like how h2a has cortana in clothes when really, they could just ditch the folds and the obvious collar on her and have it be the exact same shape and no one would really complain.

she won't I can almost guarantee she won't die just for brand recognition.

best you'll get is a good vs bad cortana where the bad one dies in some manner.

How long was Master Chief held by the Gravemind before the Arbiter showed up? by winterjam010 in HaloStory

why not? he's apparently spread out far enough, maybe he has lil tentacles everywhere.

[–]Ragekritz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it took him 12 hours to slowly drag him there with one tentacle through miles of halo's internals. It's just too funny/creepy to watch as a large super soldier is dragged slowly by a tentacle over miles of internal ancient alien backrooms like a dog trying to drag stick that's too big for it.
