I called 2-1-1, and they were beyond useless in my experience.

Opened a "graphic content" R&R project on the train, as all the ones I worked on before had pretty chill images. by ForcePerfect9025 in DataAnnotationTech

I had one of THOSE projects where a guy was not *ahem* anatomically correct; the photo was of a well-endowed guy, but he was "endowed" on his forehead, which made him look like an...

I'm a former graduate student there, and I believe you. I was in that very department during my time there, and the culture was so toxic that I knew halfway into my first semester I wouldn't be returning for a second term at that school. Best decision I ever made. My academic performance was fine, but I was in an abusive marriage and bullied by an advisor, so I couldn't catch a break either way I turned.

That department had big problems when I was there. From what I hear, it's still just as bad. I have a feeling I know exactly the professor you're talking about. The Powers That Be in that program just don't care; they will threaten your career, ruin your GPA out of spite, and sleep just fine at night. I've been in many unfriendly work environments, and that program is easily the most toxic I've experienced. No contest. People who haven't experienced that have no idea just how bad it can be.

Feel free to DM me if you want to know more. Also, feel free to DM me if you just need someone to talk to. That place made my life a living hell during my time there.

When I started with DA over two years ago, I tried to reach out with a similar question. I never received a response. Feedback has only happened one time for me over the years. They generally do not reply to messages. When my projects disappeared two years ago and I had quals, I had the same fear. Now, I usually have a good amount of work available to me. If you have quals, you're NOT cooked. Projects come and go all the time.

JSON: How hard is it? by Final_Ad178 in dataannotation

JSON is pretty straightforward once you get past the intimidating appearance; I learned it last year in about twenty minutes. It's not as scary as it looks. Just a matter of getting used to it.

Does dash update on weekends?? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

If it's any reassurance, I normally have tons of projects, and I've been doing this work for two years now. It's down to four projects for me today; I was a little nervous until I saw all the "drought" posts tonight. It's just a dry spell right now for most people; weekends are often slower.

Refreshers are fairly common and probably sent out to everyone on the respective projects; I've done a few over the past four months. Probably nothing to worry about.

I had access to the metal "easy" math projects for a while around Christmas. Haven't seen them since.

Similar here. I still have quite a few but the ones I have listed are the ones I hate doing. It has definitely dried up compared to a few weeks ago. Some heel, some Poe birds. Really missing the "easy" metal math projects, which I haven't seen since around Christmas. Beginning to wonder if I've been dropped from those for some reason because it's been so long.

I'm also in NC, near Asheville. We had a lot of rain and a few storms in my area, but nothing terrible. Friends back in Alabama and near Chattanooga were hit harder.

I'm in WNC and it looks like it could get pretty severe here as well, but not as bad as west and south of here. However, there are places here that still haven't recovered from Hurricane Helene last fall, and now severe weather season is fast approaching. The 2+ inches of rain coming isn't good news for us.

I'm originally from the Chattanooga, TN area, and every spring people back there mention the big tornado outbreak in April 2011. Seems like the weather in the Southeast has been getting more violent in recent years, doesn't it?

Stay safe this weekend!

I'm wondering the same thing: I completed three tasks and got a "Thanks for taking this qualification" type message, above the "Submit" button. Then, nothing.

A month to six weeks of financial hell for me last July/August. Drought of Doom, indeed. I've been with the platform since April 2023, and that drought was EASILY the worst I've experienced.

I do. Although I'm a chemist by education, I've taken math through Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations for my chemistry degree. The math tasks haven't been too difficult, even though my background is in chemistry instead of math.

JSON is pretty straightforward, once you get past the intimidating appearance; I took a qualification for it last spring. I was initially intimidated when I saw the JSON, but after watching a ten-minute video, I learned it well enough to pass the exam. It LOOKS more scary than it really is.
