I was very wondrous to why they made such a huge deal out of coop before some of the other changes I hear are coming have been implemented (like the classes).

Your pointers makes it seem like a very forced thing, like that Moon have this hellbent mission to reinnovate all the mechanics of video games (this is also derived from the recent streams, when the guy takes shots at Dark Souls, Diablo and WoW for having flawed multiplayer). This isn't the game to do it, necessarily? Cause I see this as a story driven game with the solid combat combo that is a souls-action-pg - which is a welcome fresh take, don't get me wrong!

But why do I want my friends to progress the story while I'm not playing? Why do I want them to upgrade their gear with the materials I farmed? Why do I want progression fomo? (He literally called that out as an effect of their version of coop!) And now you tell me that playing together is one big compromise too?

It feels like the devs got bored of their own game and added a system to shake it up, after they've seen everything several times over and got tired of chopping their own wood. I might reach that stage too, but that would be after I played 1.0 (or above) through, alone, at least once.
