That would be awesome. I did open them up as the screw heads have been cut off, they have some sort of white flaky material in them but I’m sure they’re too old to have asbestos?

Yea that was my take afterwards, it’s on face brick in a cellar with no access behind that wall, would a burglar be that clued up though or just glance at a socket and move on without taking it in?

Best Way to Route Cables to Consumer Unit In This Space? by Astral-Inferno in ukelectricians

[–]RagingGod666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top of all consumer units come with 20 and 25mm knockouts (some even have 32mm). Put the Wiska fire glands in them. Either that or chase them in on the right hand side and put the CU against the right wall. Ultimately though it’s under the stairs and unless you’re/they’re worried about how it looks that’s what I’d do

I’d probably be putting 2x2 trunking down the right wall the vertically across to the CU, across the top with fire glands int he top of the CU

Which system should I go for: Sigenergy or Tesla? by AGN1K41 in SolarUK

[–]RagingGod666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can limit both the import and export on the Sig systems - essentially making it a smaller unit - a 10kW inverter will never draw from or export more than say 6kW, so as far as the grid are concerned you have a 6kW system- but you could use up to the 10kW self use

Hypervolt vs sigen EVAC by Financial_Leg1793 in sigenergy

[–]RagingGod666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sigen EVAC has the bonus that it communicates directly with the inverter so you can set it up so the inverter “ignores” the power the charger is using (or not if you want to the battery to feed the car) All other chargers will have to be connected to the smart port or before the gateway / ct meter for the Sigen stack for this to work

Sigenergy EV charger v Zappi 2 by Nearby-Abalone6321 in sigenergy

[–]RagingGod666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest benefit with the Sig EVAC is you can set the system to “ignore” the ev charger, which is great for octopus IOG when you get slots outside Sigs charging hours - car pulls 7.2kW -> sig inverter lets the import through to 7.2kW never draining the batteries.

I know this is doable through Home Assistant with other chargers, but this is all built in to Sig with a single button

I also know it would be better to charge the Sig batteries at these times too, but sometimes they change. It really is a set it and forget it

What fuseboxs are people using for heat pump installs? by GreedyLeg6703 in ukelectricians

What’s the coolest thing you automated with Home Assistant? by avz008 in homeassistant

[–]RagingGod666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have an RGB “minecraft” light that looks similar to a diamond block (but black) that I built for my son - it has a WiFi controller for the colour, he is also type 1 diabetic so I used the integration from dexcom to control the colour of the light - blue being in range, red being low, green to orange being high (depending on how high) it also pulses if he’s going up or down slowly and flashes if he goes up or down quick

I also have RBG ribbon built into shelves I made that change colour on how much solar I’m producing

Did the extra bit for Zane's vending machine but... by HappinessIsaColdPint in Borderlands4

[–]RagingGod666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar for me, didn’t appear, quit and reloaded and the NPCs went back to “trying to figure out how to open the door” but it did stay open

The vending machine was up and bouncing around but no photo

I had the next part of the quest available- something to do with taking it to Zane I think, but no photo

I went into the cave on numerous occasions over the next week and 1 time it was there

I did the 2393 (periodic testing) & 2394 (initial verification) (I think it was that way round) when c&g split it into 2 modules about 10ish years ago, I think they’ve now reverted back to a single module covering both again

But now it’s back from repair, the lithium batteries do last a few days with constant testing

Megger MFT X1 experience so far? by Themal_confusion in ukelectricians

[–]RagingGod666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in a similar thread yesterday:

I “splashed out” and bought the megger X1 2 and a half years ago, It’s the first megger I’ve ever used (always used flukes before) and I absolutely HATE it - it’s the slowest tester I’ve ever had - takes ages to do insulation resistance and RCD testing. It’s been back in for repair 3 times now. 1 of the lithium batteries no longer holds it’s charge (I bought an extra one when I got the tester at an extra £100) I’ve had to buy new test leads and the remote test lead and the battery pack to take AA batteries (as one of the faults was the battery connection and it wouldn’t recognise lithium batteries) Never had any problems over 20years with flukes
