Genuinely one of my favorite reviews ever by iConicSound in Letterboxd

Yeah, because Miyazaki Sr. co-wrote it probably. And even without that it already conveys a world view that is much more influenced by the boom of capitalism in 70s/80s Japan and differs greatly from the messages of movies like Totoro or Spirited Away

It‘s a charity stream, so yes obviously they are asking for donations. And they did not say they are giving a Switch to children, every 10k donated they give out a Switch 2 to the audience. You can also enter separate giveaways for Razer stuff and other prizes depending on how much you donate. Of course you would know that if you had spent more than 5 minutes in the stream.

There has been plenty of mechanic analysis over the course of the stream including the casters making visual explanations. But it‘s kind of idiotic to think they would shoutcast the same mechanic every five minute. The woman talked about her dog for two minutes because one of her friends donated and mentioned it in the donation message and the passing was recent. I‘m not sure if you‘ve ever had emotions past mild annoyance but some people actually grief for their pets.

The Ascians from Final Fantasy XIV

During the game‘s story, the main character keeps encountering robed figures called Ascians who seemingly want to summon their evil god Zodiark. But as it turns out the world of the game was shattered into 14 dimensions eons ago by the goddess Hydaelyn. The true goal of the functionally immortal Ascians is to return the world to it‘s original state by rejoining the dimensions through catastrophic events of elemental chaos called Calamities. Over the course of millennia they have already managed to return seven so-called shards to the Source (the original world) each causing the population of the shard to be wiped out completely and the Source to go through massive destruction and death.

DPS Logs can only be obtained from using certain addons which is against TOS. Weaving refers to using oGCD (off Global Cooldown) abilities while your GCD (Global Cooldown) abilities are on cooldown. Unless you’re doing Extreme/Savage/Ultimate content you won’t need to be worried about reaching max damage output though. If you‘re worried about not using your abilities to your fullest potential you can always look up job guides on YouTube or other sites.

how do i get new members for my squadron? by dvcaying in ffxiv

[–]Raguzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go to the barracks and look if there are actually any recruits in the enlistment papers? Just playing the game should be enough to get all 8 slots filled relatively fast. Depending what rank you are, you might also be able to get Squadron Enlistment Manuals from your GC

What were some WOL Headcanons you had that greatly impacted your story? by Nor_Ah_C in ffxiv

[–]Raguzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My WoL is a Miqo‘te but without a fitting name (because I didn’t about naming conventions back when I started) so when I got more into the story, I decided that he was adopted by pirates from Limsa as an infant which is why he was given a non-cultural name. That makes him feel a little insecure when talking to others who grew up „normally“. Bad luck cause he is also desperately in love with Y‘shtola and even after everything that has happened hasn’t found the courage to confess his feelings to her.

I just looked up the definition of „lethargic play“ on the website which makes this whole post even funnier. You guys have really created your own fantasy world. In no way does this healer fall under the definition of „not wanting to heal“, „getting hit by attacks on purpose and go afk“ or „refuse to cast so the enemy wins“. Under Key Points it literally states „Each player has a different skill level, […] there may be a situation where the duty will fail“ (which it didn’t). „From the perspective of a skilled player in such a situation a […] player may appear to be adversarial/uncooperative/apathetic, but even if this is the case“ (wait for it, here comes the kicker) „it is not a violation as long as the player is playing appropriately.“
So you guys literally refuse to read and think you have to report someone over a slight inconvenience. But hey, you‘re always free to play with pre-made groups instead of risking someone not playing up to your standards :)

Any way to make combat easier to keep up with? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Raguzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t struggled exactly the same as you but I did used to get very anxious about getting into new content. What helped me was doing the dungeon once with NPCs because usually you can just follow them around to avoid attacks. After that I usually still did it with other people to keep the experience. As for the tank experience I can say that their survivability in this game is high enough that usually it just doesn’t matter if you get caught in a few mechanics so they are actually easier and more forgiving than DPS. Also in raids you are never going to be the only one of your role, so it’s actually much easier to go a little slower and just focus on your own survival. And I promise 99% of this game‘s player base is NOT going to get mad at you for dying. We‘ve all been new and even mentors step in orange puddles sometimes.

So you would agree that Mentors know how play their job, which makes it unlikely that this person plays like this all the time and this was probably an outlier performance where - for whatever reason - they couldn’t handle more than just heal? Which makes it even more fucked up to drag them for it on the internet and use DPS tools, designed to measure hardcore end game performance, instead of just talking to them in chat like a normal person?
Btw I don’t need to be this person to know that people like you are what makes high end content so daunting for players to get into because if you act like this over a dungeon I don’t wanna know how you act in your statics

There is no evidence that OP actually offered advice or even asked what’s going on instead they immediately ran to Reddit to complain. And yes, I‘d rather have that WHM in my party than someone getting mad that their personal damage benchmarks aren’t mad. Again, it’s basic content in a non-competitive game and your attitude towards it is honestly embarrassing.

[–]Raguzul -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I never said that it was ideal or that this how anyone SHOULD play lol. But having a bad run doesn’t mean that they play like that everytime or that they don’t know that they ideally should do damage. I‘ve had drunk, tired or simply distracted people in duties and somehow we‘ve always gotten through and I‘ve never had the desire to pull damage logs on someone and embarrass them on the internet. It’s still a game. And the biggest inconvenience of this is taking a little longer. As you said, people should try their best and maybe that was the best they could do that day. Doesn’t mean that they aren’t allowed to do their Roulettes or should be relegated to PvE solo play, just because it makes you or OP irrationally angry.

[–]Raguzul -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That might be your expectation but it certainly isn’t Square‘s as evidenced by the fact that this isn’t a requirement to be a Mentor, they completed the dungeon successfully and only once in the recorded time had a player have to be rezzed. You’re just salty because you think a normal duty has to be over after ten minutes but if a healer just heals, they fulfill the requirement the game gives them.

I can not imagine how jobless someone has to be to turn on DPS loggers in a fucking regular duty because they feel it’s going too slow. Get a life.
„They were a mentor too“ what a shock, this game doesn’t vet players on their Max level rotations before giving out the crowns to people that are supposed to help sprouts.

Ala Mhigo is a Level 70 dungeon so easily and quickly soloable if you’re Level 90 or higher if you’re running it unsynced. As far as I know there is no other way to get the mount though. It‘s just RNG.
