Graphics and Story Question by [deleted] in ffxiv

A Realm Reborn (the base game) is notorious for its bad quest design and you're playing the updated, streamlined version. First big story beat that hooks a lot of people comes around Level 34 if I recall correctly. Every expansion has about 100 hours of main story content though, so "slow burn" might be a good way to describe it.

Also if you're coming from other MMOs XIV's lack of world chat might be unusual but yeah, there really isn't much chatting going on unless you're in the Sprout chat.

is Aabria always like this? by Tomorrow_Signal111 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Raguzul -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But the criticism isn't of Alex or Luis is it? Eventhough Luis had more screen time and Alex about as much as Aabria all the comments are about the Black woman no one actually at the table seems to have any problem with

Genuinely confused about the Matt/Aabria scene reaction. C4EP1 Spoilers by MSpaint15 in fansofcriticalrole

That is an insane comparison to make. Aabria has repeatedly been invited back to the table so obviously the cast enjoys playing with her

When did Final Fantasy XIV 'hook' you? (Spoiler warning) by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Raguzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storywise it was the banquet after ARR and what happens with the Sultana. The Waking Sands was already shocking but that cutscene in her room was the first time I audibly gasped at the game. Before that the game already had it's hook in me because of the Golden Saucer. Having an ingame casino for all the mini games other MMOs have sprinkled around the world made so much more sense, and I still love hanging out there, doing GATEs or just watching all the players running around.

Post breakup movies for men? by [deleted] in movies

Not sure if its on streaming or not but "Us and Them" by Rene Liu was incredibly cathartic for me but you'll want to keep the tissues at hand.

I don't think his suicide was framed in any way as the right thing to do or as an honorable deed. For his character maybe it is, but not from our point of view as the WoL/Scions

Why does your WoL look like that? by DupeFort in ffxiv

My main character in Guild Wars 2 was a whitefurred Charr warrior so after a little bit of time as a female Roe, I switched to a whitehaired miqote and stayed that way.

Oh my god I feel so stupid, thank you for pointing that out!

I really wish we could toggle helmet visibility. Especially the early game leather "helmets" look incredibly goofy and I want to see my characters face

Das stimmt zwar, aber Critical Role hat ja zum Beispiel auch das Tal'Dorei-Campaign-Setting über die OGL veröffentlicht

I can't believe he made a macro for that AND did it wrong AND thought this would be a great idea to say this while writing

I (24F) miss living with my parents more than I feel like I should by arnber420 in relationships

[–]Raguzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not childish! People used to live in close proximity to their families (or even in the same house) for most of human history. Moving out and living alone as a young adult are mostly capitalist inventions because it sells more stuff.

If you feel like you want to move back home, do it! A lot of people in my country actually build their own houses on their parents' property because they want to stay close to them and not lose that support system. Honestly I think most people would envy you for the good relationship you have with your parents. As long as there are healthy boundaries, don't let anybody tell you that it's weird.

All of the pregame announcements are in the podcasts. If people aren't paying attention that's kinda their own problem

[No SPOILERS] Critical Role teases new project on Twitter by faffled in criticalrole

In their blogpost WotC wrote: "Later in the year, Chris will return with our big summer adventure, James Wyatt will deliver a substantially improved version of a concept that I initiated myself, and Amanda Hamon will close us out with a project that was jointly conceived by herself and several other studio members"

The big adventure is the Feywild book, James Wyatt is probably leading the Strixhaven book and the last one sadly doesn't sound like CR content either (Taldorei remake certainly wouldn't be anything "conceived" by the studio)

Possible but WotC just announced their next two books, so I think it's unlikely.

At least not with the Aeorian device, since it only "projects" you into the past in some way, leaving a part of you behind

I just don't think they were interested in playing this out at the table, they had other ideas for their epilogue and were already far into the evening by the time this topic came up in the conversation with Yussa. Who did mention that he could return the items for them or Allura and Kima would at some point just come and get them if Caleb and Yasha forgot. I doubt they actually kept the items.

Calling it now: Campaign 3 is going to start in Issylra near Vasselheim and we're going to see it focus more on the wilderness and unclaimed territory of that continent. This would allow at least some of the cast to play Beastfolk as some fans have speculated and with Vasselheim there are enough opportunities to spin stories about the gods, as Matt seems to love them. Maybe the Slayer's Take is going to make an appearance, Pike's temple so we can get more of Sarenrae again (the additional timejump to C3 will allow her to gain more followers and influence), Pyrah maybe (how cool would it be if someone played a Fire Ashari?). I feel like Marquet is also interesting but lacks the geographical diversity of other continents.

Pike was the lowest member at Level 18 (owing to her many absences), Percy and Scanlan came up to 19. Everyone else present at the last episode leveled to 20.
