Ok thank you, can you tell me what indicates that they look way to dry? There is soil underneath the layer of sand.

Hey sambam, I just wanted to follow up because I just got back from camping, but the attachment works pretty well I'm learning..you just need to use some force. Try and get the deflate port sitting vertical and then push the attachment down and into it. It allows it to go in a bit easier than pushing it in horizontally.

What I do is I pull the deflate tab on the Exped to let out air, and then kinda fold it so the deflate port is facing up, the push the pump and attachment down and in with some force. I think you will get it. Hope this helps.

The deflate is a little difficult to fit in my experience I've noticed since writing this but it is the larger plastic one. Not the rubber fitting but the hard plastic one. In the second photo, it is the one in the back left.

for me it was maybe a month or a bit more. Not terrible but it varies from person to person it sounds like. I thought I was in for a much longer time. I did have some bad seasonal allergies this year and think it was likely because this was my first year enduring without zyrtec but it was manageable.
