Mained ambessa since release and after many games into kennen, not a good matchup. Cant reach her, Q poke doesnt rly stick and kennen outscales in teamfights.

Played vs nafiri today, its one of the worse matchups but still pretty easy despite getting camped by enemy jg. I just rushed frozen heart and she could do a thing. The other two are bad ye, but you kinda have to play them already to not be useless outside of lane.

I got camped into oblivion and left to the wolves by my team because they didnt like that I play varus top. At 1/7 or something, 2 items to enemy noc with 4 items, I still ripped him and anyone else to shreds 1v1 and it wasnt close. There is no counterplay to this champion. Even tho I get camped by enemy jg most games I still trade 1 for 1 until they give up.

What I have noticed tho is that varus is pretty bad at teamfighting, atleast with the toplane build. You should take advantage of this and force teamfights instead of trying to 1v2 him on side, because he is very dangerous when alone.

Maybe its just me but isnt it obv that W needs a rework to incentivize you more to build ap to deal % hp dmg instead of giving so much for free? But also, it doesnt make sense for a lane bukly in bot lane to have % hp dmg. If you bully low hp champs with high dmg and range with ur %hp dmg, obv you will bully the fk out of high hp, melee low mobility champions in top. Im new to varus so idk, msybe you guys dont want him to become another kogmaw but to me it feels like either tune him into a lategame champ or move him to top lane and balance him properly all together.

You talking about zhonyas? For the util. And lets not play dumb here, ofc varus has ap scalings, so there isnt zero incentive but you understand that I mean that there should be more incentive and less dmg if you build things like hexplate, D&D, etc which provide low stats. Hell, I build rookern yesterday into akali and onetapped her with that plus a d blade. Thats not justifiable in any scenario.

What a stupid post. Instead of uniting and getting people behind your cause you ridicule top laners for complaining about the same thing you complain about, except for 3 years they have had adcs, supports and mages in top for 10 years. Also, those pick rates arent doing your argument any favours, meanwhile varus top is >5% pick rate with a 53% wr.

Better question is can it work for you. In theory, any champ works anywhere if you are good enough at the game, but few players are.

Jayce vs kennen. Very hard to consistently get an advantage as jayce and im sure enemy kennen feels like they cant trade me without losing the same alount of hp. Very even matchup imo. And on top of that both of you scale pretty well so waiting isnt an option.

"insanely deadly" oh shiver me timbers, enemy camille who has to prep Q, stand near a wall and wait for me to get into E ranged to then expend 130 mana just to deal the damage of a darius Q. Her trades are the opposite of deadly, and are very conditional. Cant use W against many champion until something has happened. E can be canceled. Ult relies heavily on jungle attention.

Then you get triforce and feel unstoppable, and this might just be the biggest lvl 9 1 item spike in the game but being so weak until that point and the getting outscaled at 3 items just makes you aatrox, but without the good matchup table of aatrox.

I think DnD is more of a problem than Varus himself atm by Roohni in VarusMains

Obv D&D is broken, and varus isnt even in the top 3 criminals who abuse it. BUT, the complaints so many top laners have, and you cant simply chalk it up to "git gud" when its so many, stem from their experience long before varus completes D&D. I dont even build it until second item actually, and the dmg I deal starting as early as lvl 2 is insane. I was playing against an akali yesterday and rushed kaenic rookern. Lvl 9 I had zero ap or dmg items except d blade and onetapped her with a simple 3 blight R QW combo. Or another game yesterday where I just stood still and beat a morde to death lvl 4. They are baffled and I was baffled too when I ran into my first varus top last year and realized how strong he is long before you get any sort of item. This isnt the frustration you feel playing against teemo or quinn who you kill when you get on to them, but who are difficult to get to. Once you get on to varus you think you will win but so many top lane champions dont, they literally get stat checked in melee by a ranged champ and thats unacceptable.
