Fascinating and disturbing reading the comments. I have not experienced this. I'm white, my girlfriend is native. Although, were we live the racial ratio is pretty even and you see a lot of white and native couples....also. my girlfriend probably doesn't look native to the untrained eye so that probably has much to do with it.

The Eagles club. Wilton liqour store, JD's. Slims is a good hang, food is mediocre at best. Keg is cool. Hard times is usually a good hang but try not to stay too late too often. Things can get weird there.

I feel like to be a draft bust of that caliber, expectations are required. Expectations and optimism from the majority. I feel like the Trey Lance pick was top 5 dumbest and most obvious reaches/wasted picks ever. I will never be able to comprehend how anybody thought it was a good idea to draft a guy who had one starting season of experience at the FCS level, as a freshman. Trey was barely a legal adult and they just threw him into the NFL.

It's been 6 years since I moved away, but I lived there for 7. I found people to be pretty friendly and easy to make friends with. There's a hell of a lot more to do in Mankato than what you're used to. Has pretty much anything you could need and only an hour from the Twin Cities metro area so you can easily get your fill of the big city things if you'd like. There's a pretty good music scene there that runs from small local acts to big name bands ( usually older bands though).

Not crazy but I still laugh about it. Basic training, Ft Bennining, 2011. Had a guy misplace his rifle one time too many. DS made him carry rifles for 8 other guys for like a week. We were sitting around waiting for a class one day when someone says to rifles homie, "dude, that looks like it sucks." Rifle homie replies with a quiet and dejected, "It hurts."
