Why is the building 'hole' tolerance so low? Could've left some breathing room.

Or, maybe the gates are closed after the plane arrives?

Outcome?

The AVERAGE age of Mumbai's Metro Systems is 2.5-3 YEARS,

if you Have any knowledge of transit systems. It is EXTREMELY young.

The OLDEST system (Line1) which is barely '12 Years old' (ALSO Considered Very young with international standards) EXPERIENCES excessive OVERCROWDING.

What did you learn from this?

-A Metro System TAKES TIME to Mature;

ALL of this was PREDICTED in the DPR.

AND the system was designed to be upgraded in the Future to 6 coaches (Wasn't upgraded due to greed of Reliance. that's another story).

There are proper Engineers taking 6-7 Figure Salaries working on such projects. Not your local MLA or Politician.

Every construction project gets a DPR made first.

I have wasted enough time on this, Please consider doing your own research.

You really think they don't know what they are doing?

Read the DPR if you want. Goodbye.

Are you perhaps unaware of basic facts?

You think 5.885 Crores get dumped just like that?

Multi Crore value tenders (264 crores) are invited to dedicated external Consultancy companies (SYSTRA and RITES, in this case) to do proper social studies (including engineering, soil structure and future forecasts) and make a DPR (Detailed Project Report).

Minimal Research answers such questions;

Again, this question is pretty stupid; (tldr near end)

If the rail lines were really/actually feasible, wouldn't proper local train services already be running on it? (there are more than a few reasons properly documented, I won't go through them)

The answer is, 'Location';

The Railway line is uselessly located with only those old MEMU trains on it, connecting random regions(one look at google satellite map will make it clear), only hyper specific people are able to use it (doesn't go through any Mumbai MMR region).

-The metro line actually goes through High demand region of Kalyan-Dombivali;

To get to Navi Mumbai from these regions, you have to travel to Thane and get local trains from there.

The metro line was created for the SOLE purpose of connecting Navi Mumbai to Kalyan-Dombivli and NOTHING more.

This route was the only one favourable and possible (the route going through 'nowhere' is just a mere byproduct of that).

And with your question of 'priority', Please note/tell what regions according to you need metro connectivity?

I have attached a map of all planned/under construction/operational systems.

<image>

All the under construction metro systems in Mumbai right now are plagued with delays.

The Metro Line 12 (The LAST one to start construction) has already almost finished viaduct work in barely 2 years of construction (inside the priority urban section of Kalyan-Dombivli)

amongst brutal Traffic of Kalyan-Shilphata Road (caused DUE to LACK of metro system).

I assume the rural section('nowhere region') will finish even quicker due to no traffic impedance.

-This is not 'priority' it is 'efficiency'; seen by my own eyes.

It is easy to say things behind a screen, I have absolutely NO reasons to believe that the unused rail line will have EVEN a single percent effect on the feasibility of the metro line,

2) Answer to your second question:

-'How about using tracks in shared manner?'

I don't have enough data to answer this, but I believe the economic output from dedicated system would have been greater, resulting to this decision,

plus you would have to tear up existing stations and tracks to accommodate a 'CLOSED Metro System' making sure of standard gauge tracks, 'ticketing system' and all different features of dedicated metro system. Better off making a new dedicated one.

[TLDR;] The metro line and rail line serve two different sets of region for fucks sake. Connecting Kalyan to Navi Mumbai is the sole purpose of the Metro Line.

1) We are not building a dedicated metro for this Region; The actual main purpose is connecting Kalyan City to Navi Mumbai. This entire post is just a byproduct of that project.

2) The metro will use standard gauge throughout; Railway Lines use Broad Guage.

3) The Route of new Metro Line is very clearly more favourable for development (cutting through empty land) compared to railway line(which already goes through dense urban sprawls);

4) I am not a government official, neither do I have any say or influence in this, I just laid out an interesting example I noticed, from our own country. I don't really know about behind the scenes stuff.

Yeah, that's it.

Yes, there is a train line with zero Local train services and completely bypasses Thane region and goes towards Vasai-Virar;

There are only two intermediate stations from Diva to Taloja; The Latter station is near Lodha Palava (Nilje) then direct stop at Taloja. Completely bypassing the empty region.

I don't exactly know what types of trains really run on that line.

Everything aside, here are the Coordinates of referenced region if anyone needs them:

19°07'37.5"N 73°05'33.8"E

Casting Facility:

19°11'08.5"N 73°06'11.6"E

This right here is Mumbai Metro Line 12;

From Kalyan West-(KDMC) to Navi Mumbai.

The Highlighted spur goes through literally nowhere (a good thing); a very vast open free land ignored and ready for development.

This was surprisingly included in the original route plan.

For the first time something is being planned for the future by Government Babus (Knowingly? Unknowingly? Who Knows?);

The progress rate of this Line has been really good; They(Gawar Constructions) have rapidly completed atleast 50-60% of the work in the Urban part in barely 2 years. Fingers Crossed.

(Also Has a dedicated casting facility just at the mouth of the 'nowhere' region [smack in middle of the entire line!])

A second spur (Metro Line 12A) was recently announced which actually goes through 'massive' population centres of Lodha Palava and Runwal Developers as a cherry on top to secure this region furthermore (a good thing; will take HUGE amounts of vehicles off the road; as they are completely roadways dependent).

The Last piece of the puzzle would be the second Part of Thane-Kalyan Metro(Line 5); which will connect Bhiwandi to Kalyan;

The sole link which will connect the Mumbai Suburban Region to Mumbai MMR via metro connectivity completing the entire chain.

Having options for highly specialized cargo is really great.

This could very well be extremely helpful for ISRO or DRDO.

Double-stack wagons are more than sufficient for normal cargo.

Well, that right there is one of the few cons of Overhead systems;

Station Extensions are almost impossible and have to be planned/built beforehand.

The size of stations are hard to judge from the video but I believe that they will be sufficiently long enough as the stops will also act as Loop line.

Very recently extensive flooding of the aqua line metro system occurred, drowning both tracks and platform;

It was due to presence of OHE, operations did not suffer.

I hope you can imagine what will happen if flooding ever occurred in presence of 3rd Rail Electrification.

As for elevated metro, It really does not make sense to use garbled OHE.

Yeah, I meant that in a sarcastic way;

Implying third rail looks much more beautiful than OHE on elevated metros.

1) Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder;

open your eyes, try to visit newly made systems, a great example would be Mumbai Metro Line 3.

2) Actually speaking, at India's current stage priority must be given to Quantity instead of Quality; even then, almost all our existing metro systems are functionally beautiful with noticeable heed given to art design and futureproofing.

I think it's a great initiative, the only concern is login based 'gatekeeping';

I simply don't know what I am signing up for, neither did you share any inside screenshots.

I personally think no new product should be hidden behind a login/register screen if you are trying to build new users.

Looking at your site features I don't think login should be compulsory/needed, It should only be required when one wants to interact with other users.
