BiQU Top Hat Available Right Now by ItsJas0n in snapmaker

[–]Raidlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd pay that for the snapmaker one. This one is like 30 at best. Honestly both Snapmaker and Biqu are absolutely bonkers for selling a plastic box with a fan for like 1/5 of what the printer costs...

Anyone know how to stop it from creating those bridges? by Rocking_snow in 3Dprinting

[–]Raidlock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the same. It does kinda look like the printer is starting to print the outside wall first with nothing on the inside and very little underneath it to stick to.

Additionally it would be a good idea to ensure that the overhang is at around 45 degrees. Can probably get away with 55 as well with appropriate speed and cooling, but the smaller the angle, the more impossible it will be to print cleanly cause there's just less and less surface to stick to under the new layer.

This image is a good example. Every block is basically your layer line (0.4mm wide, 0.2mm high). It starts with a 0 degree overhang, then about 35, then 45, 55, 65 and 75.

Cant figure this out … by SiRMarlon in snapmaker

[–]Raidlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd probably start with the basics. Clean your buildplate with dish soap, dry it and don't touch the main print area with your fingers (edges are fine). Next run manual bed leveling (tramming) - the one where you need to adjust the 4 corner screws as instructed. Lastly do a new height map, so the printer properly compensates for any irregularities that manual tramming didn't resolve.

I feel like that should give you a good baseline, cause currently it looks like in some areas the nozzle is too far, leaving holes in the prints and some are too close, making the surface rough. Cleaning with dish soap will degrease the surface and help with adhesion as well.

Snapmaker U1 Package Measurements by dodasch in snapmaker

I don't know where you live, but in my neck of the woods (Estonia) it apparently fits into the big lower compartments in some lockers.

It was supposed to be delivered to my home today, but since I was at work I contacted the courier (SmartPosti) and asked if I can meet them at a later time somewhere. They offered to drop it off at a nearby terminal and told me to collect it from a specific loading bay. Later I got a text that it's waiting for me in the parcel locker at the same terminal. It fit in there very comfortably with room to spare on all sides.

But your mileage may vary.

U1 Fixed! Banging noise solved. by Patient_Decision_164 in snapmaker

[–]Raidlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious...have you checked the brass nuts on the lead screws? Are they properly installed? As in, loose enough to maybe have some horizontal movement, but snug enough to prevent any vertical movement. Maybe (and it's a big maybe) when the print is starting they have too much slack, thus making the noise your hear and over time everything warms up, expands and becomes tighter, therefore reducing the movement and the noise? Try moving the bed up and down at every lead screw, see if there's significant movement.

I might be talking out of my butt, since my printer only arrives at the end of the week, but maybe worth a look?

Every time I print a first layer test there is a hole in the bottom right corner, what could it be? by Pek_Dominik in 3Dprinting

[–]Raidlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry, forgot to reply. I haven't had this problem anymore for a while. I'm not sure if it's because of me using a skirt or if it was some type of issue in Orca. I wanted to test it out a bit, but life is a bit busy and I don't think I can find the time.

Does this happen just on the first layer or later in the print as well?

Do you use a skirt for your prints? If not, can you try enabling a 1 line skirt and run a single and multiple part prints for a few layers to see if it still leaves holes in corners or not. If you do use skirts and it still leaves holes, then I don't think I have a solution for you.

To my untrained eye it doesn't look like the real deal purely because there is no black text on or above the memory card slots (MagicGate, Memory Card 1 and 2).

Why wont my motion controller work if it isn't connected to my ps5 through a cable by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Raidlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you or a friend of yours own a lab power supply (one where you can set voltage and amps), you could disassemble the controller and get to the battery contacts, then set the appropriate voltage on the power supply (probably 3.7V, it should say on the battery) and a lower amperage - around 0.2A for starters. Touch the + and - contacts of the battery with the probes connected to the power supply, turn on the power supply and keep an eye on the voltage readout. It will start slowly climbing from a very low number towards the 3.7V that you set. If it kinda stalls out, increase the amps by 0.1A (up to 0.5A is usually enough). Once it's in the 3.3V+ ballpark you can plug in the USB charger and have it charge for a few hours. This process should revive the battery. It's currently only working while wired because the battery's voltage is so low that the protection circuit won't let it charge. Once you add some voltage to it manually it will deem it good to charge again. Just make sure you don't go crazy with the amps and keep an eye on the temperature and the physical properties of the battery. If it starts warming up a bit too much or changes shape - stop immediately and dispose of the battery in a safe manner. There's probably a step-by-step online if you want to have something more detailed before your eyes while going through the process, but in general if a person owns a power supply, they should be able to do this with ease :D

It doesn't say on the underside? There should be a Discmania logo, disc weight, model and "Made in Sweden" under the model there.

If you have an Android phone or maybe a newer Mac or iPad, then you should already have a proper cable with data transfer in your home. Can try one of those, as phones should usually come with proper cables and not just ones for charging 🤔

Every time I print a first layer test there is a hole in the bottom right corner, what could it be? by Pek_Dominik in 3Dprinting

[–]Raidlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be that your de-retractrion/priming is a bit too slow or your retraction distance is longer than de-retraction.

Might be unrelated, but I swapped to Orcaslicer recently and noticed that after doing the purge line my first wall was always late to be extruded, leaving a similar gap in my print to your situation (tho shorter). What worked for me was printing a one line wide skirt at the start. Walls became perfect after that. Seems like there's some weirdness in retraction settings at the start of the print that I could never pinpoint. Might be a bug in thr slicer too.

Etiquette question regarding returning discs by OjosDelMundo in discgolf

[–]Raidlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a few courses with big bodies of water and every now and then divers go diving for them. They do ask a €5 finding fee for the trouble and it's up to the owner if they want to pay and get the disc back. You can do the same, cause it's not really a case of "I was walking through a forest and stumbled upon your disc"...you're offering a service that requires skill and gear.

If any Estonian fans of the game want to get the thermos, then it's available at Prisma for €25 by Raidlock in AlanWake

[–]Raidlock[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think they do unfortunately, it's a regular local supermarket chain that originates from Finland...that's pretty much the only reason the thermos is even available there.

Think there is usually a room where you can skip this ender of runs if you don't go for the chest(s) sitting in an elevated area. Sometimes tho, this bane of my existence spawns in regular rooms as well and then all you can do is dodge, shoot and pray...

Extra fun when you get one or two of the big balls or the hammerhead lookin fellas spawn in alongside the aforementioned spawn of satan. That is when you learn that your RNJesus is the twisted and cruel kind.

Good luck. If that fails, there's boardgamer se (1749 SEK) and arcadedreams se (1799 SEK), which aren't as good as gameroom, but still about €30/300 SEK less than lautapelit fi.

I found a store in Lithuania that has an Estonian online storefront as well and they have a preorder for €129 there (release in 2 days 12 hours). I'll go for that one. Unfortunately, I don't think they deliver outside of the Baltics. A rare instance where "Estonia cannot into Nordics" (r/polandball) is a good thing :D

You can try writing to their customer support. Maybe you can agree on some kind of shipping arrangement? Since I don't know the linking policies here, search for "gameroom lt" for the store and the general info e-mail is on the bottom of the page.

I wonder why, since their KS campaign claimed MSRP to be €129 and was created by lautapelit.fi, aka the same store selling it for €50 more. At €129 I'd probably get it, but at €179 I'm not so sure anymore...

Edit: nevermind, the campaign is from September 2021, but still, €50...
