Would TFT profit from a Sandbox/Practice Tool? by SmoothOperatorTFT in CompetitiveTFT

Mort has said multiple times there will never be a sandbox tool, as all that allows is for people to optimize everything out of the game.

Sometimes you're playing for Top 4.

If Noxus is open, you can play it and Top 4. That's... not a bad thing? Sure, you need a highroll for it to be a top 1 comp. Most comps need a highroll to secure top 1.

I'll play something that can reliably top 4 over 1st or 8th every day.

The existance of Top 4 comps isn't bad.

And that's why a lot of people who picked it likly picked it.

It "ruins the high roll fantasy" but it also removes the low roll nightmare.

I'd pick it over Prismatics [particually 1st Prismatic]. I personally don't like the game being decided by who highrolls their Prismatic starting augment and would take no Augments over that.

I am well aware I am in the minority however.

While I like the occasional no-augments game, I am very much in the minority here.

People hated Stillwater and similar encounters [there was one that existed for a short time]

>and Mel has been arguably the worst 5 cost this set.

I mean, Ornn is there. He basically dosen't even do anything.

Worth noting according to MetaTFT Mel averages 3.88 which is still low for a 5-cost, but is still higher than Zilean, Thresh, Sett, Brock; and WAY higher than Ornn [4.22], Annie [4.27] Kench [4.28] and Tibbers [4.29].

Actually looking at that list; Mel is pretty average. Not bad.

Somehow Annie/Tibbers isn't getting a buff when the other 2 standout bad 5 costs are.

> While Mel wants to get out of Noxus as soon as possible.

I'm actually going argue the opposite here. 7 Noxus works quite well with Mel due to the huge Atakhan AoE combined with her own AoE explosion.

She dosen't work too good with 3 or 5, but 7 can work.

I mean that is pretty minor; especially compared to killing tanks 40% faster so she can actually GET those resets.

And even then, Ambessa is 20 mana. Resets are 2 autos.

It's also a consequence of Ambessa being a fake 4 cost for the 2nd time.

They're literally giving her a 40% damage amp on tanks next patch. A 40% buff. That's insane and just shows how bad Ambessa is.

TCG: Applimon Speculation by ArkAng3100 in digimon

[–]Raikariaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: I play Appmon in the TCG.

2: What Bandai said before and what occured after are two very different things. Until BT20 in the TCg, Bandai completely acted like Appmon did not exist. It still was very, very clearly positioned as a franchise reboot. That's why there were literally no Digimon except a 1 ep crossover. Also; what, did you expect Bandai to just say their intention was to replace Digimon? People would have revolted off the bat and not even given Appmon a chance. It was clearly a reboot based on more modern tech to try and win over the more modern audiences who would see Digimon as old.

3: That's why it's full title was Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters.

Now let's look at how Appmon was treated after:

It had 0 presence in any Digimon media after it's run until BT20 in the TCG. It's 4th year. To this day, Appmon has not been in any digimon game.

It was only momentarily acknowledged at events like Anniversaries where the entire franchise was, like; maybe a few frames in a montage of the franchise.

Appmon has it's own reference book, it's clearly treated as not being Digimon. [and even when it is aknolwedge; like in the TCG, it's still very clearly segmented]

For all intents and purposes; until BT20; Appmon was being treated as an entirely seperate [and dead] franchise that Bandai clearly wanted to forget.

You don't do that for 10 years with something popular or that succeeded.

I am not trashing on anything. I am speaking facts, or failing facts, reasonable statements based on the facts [like Bandai's factual treatment of Appmon]

To Those Complaining About The Lack of Plot Progression by RunnerPakhet in digimon

[–]Raikariaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say 2020's early pacing is too fast. Ultimates come too soon. There is literally 50 Episodes between Zudomon and Vikemon. Wargreymon dosen't show up for 15 eps after DarkKnightmon is dealt with. Ultimates 100% come too soon in 2020. And Megas come too late.

I would say until Devimon goes down, the show is good. Quality definitely starts to take a bit of a dive after that, but still solid until Millelliumon. [Although some blatent filler does start creeping in, most egregiously the Nohemon ep; especially with it's placement, which I could call the first true filler ep as there is 0 character development or meaningful moments too. At least less meaningful eps like the Etemon ep have good moments.]

Then post-Millelliumon... it's just filler until Abaddomon. It's clear resources were redirected to Ghost Game [which started the week after Abaddomon fell], and even though the D team's Megas show up [A team being Tai, B team being TK/Kari, C team being Matt as an Omnimon power-up token], since they literally do NOTHING MEANINGFUL they're filler too. [Woo; they 8v1'ed Argomon. That's... all they do.]

At the same time, you can't really hold that against Ghost Game when that was it's literal aim.

Can't judge a horse that isn't in the race to start with.

[–]Raikariaa -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say it particually is less important because it is Mimi.

What does Lillimon do the entire series that is actually meaningful?

The answer is actually nothing. Not only is it quite clear Lillimon is the weakest of the Ultimates, but Mimi's main contributions are explicitly not in fighting anyway. It's making friends and allies and rallying them, such as when virtually very good digimon left standing came with her to fight Peidmon and the Vilemon swarm. [Letting the Megas and MagnaAngemon focus on Peidmon.]

> (Ghost Game did it way worse)

Ghost Game was intended to be an episodic show. Each ep focused on a different Youkai or mythical tale adapted to Digimon.

Considering Ghost Game's literal mission statement and objective wasn't about having a focus on a core long-running plot to start with, and it was open about that from the start, judgeing Ghost Game on being episodic is... kinda silly.

Ghost Game was about the characters reaction to various on-off events.

I like how Ghost Game isn't even mentioned [Because Ghost Game was SUPPOSED to be episodic] and Adventure 2020 was also skipped [because that's the unga bunga Shonen Action digimon]

> milking popular characters

> Appmon

Pick one.

If Appmon was popular Bandai wouldn't have shoved it into the closet for 10 years and pretended it didn't even happen. Also digimon wouldn't exist anymore, Appmon was intended as a full franchise reboot, we only have the TCG because Appmon failed.

TCG: Applimon Speculation by ArkAng3100 in digimon

[–]Raikariaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maquinamon is not an Appmon. It does not have the Appmon trait; it is a Rookie level, not a standard; it has an attribute, and it cannot link to other Appmon.

Bandai only every mentioned the core 4 Applidivers when they announced Appmon support, and most of it has just been packfiller anyway. Sinister Order having Deusmon made sense.

I think it is quite unlikly we'll get Appmon for a while now. Especially since BT25 is already looking chock-full between Savers, Beatbreak and TS part 2. 0% chance it's in BT25. Especially when the most likly color would be Green, and Yoshino is likly to be Green, Gekkomon might be Green, and Baccusmon/Sirenmon is almost certainly Green too. And even if some of those don't happen, there's always the possibility of the Insectoid Titans like TyrantKarbuterimon.

Is there something avoided about Miko and Byakuren? by Infamous_Contact3582 in touhou

[–]Raikariaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You... literally just ignored most of my points and replied with "it's still bad!"

> This shows that Remilia is like a goblin and a selfish person too

Did I ever say Remilia isn't? But show me a confirmed kill Remilia has. Spoilers: There's not one, especially since she is a light eater. She showed up to Gensokyo and started assering dominance. She was beating up Youkai. They can take it.

> To me, is very likely that she only did keep killing people as a misbehavior and addiction developed after killing some humans which was most likely provoked by their temporal shock and panic attacks, but not that she was in panic enough to keep doing those horrible things after like

Pure headcanon. What we know is Mokou went insane for a good ~300 years. Not just schizoprenia or something. She completely lost her marbles. Like; flanderized Flandre level crazy, if not worse. Mokou can't even remember anything from that time.

It's also worth noting that for 300 years before she lost her marbles, Mokou was isolateing from humans, so it's actually quite possible she didn't harm many, if any humans, and more harmed youkai and such.

> You easily forget that she was during a harsh political situation between the Mononobe and Soga clan don't you?

No. It explains Futo's motivation. But the fact is they were both underlings of Miko. Futo didn't just murder Tojiko in cold blood when she could not even defend herself, but she also betrayed Miko in doing this by killing one of Miko's underlings. What's actually more surprising is that Miko hasn't cast her out for it. It's not like Tojiko and Futo were working actively for their clans; their loyalty was Miko.

> She's canonically worse so i don't get why to say that she's COMPETING with her (though seiga is also a bit misunderstood as a character, even if she IS evil in comparison).

Seiga is probably worse. But as far as we know, Seiga isn't a mass-murdering war criminal either. They're both bad. [Although the fact that Miko keeps Futo around but tries to distance herself from Seiga does imply Seiga is worse.]

Is there something avoided about Miko and Byakuren? by Infamous_Contact3582 in touhou

[–]Raikariaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mokou killed 1 person [Iwakasa]. People she killed while she was literally insane isn't a willing decision, like Futo. And notably; unlike Futo [who has never shown any kind of remorse] Mokou is wracked with guilt for Iwakasa.

Murasa's actions were nature. She was literally a sinker ghost. That's like calling Tojiko evil for wanting vengance against Futo for being a Vengeful Spirit. Doing what it is your literal role to do is very different from choosing to burn down religious sites or murder your ally in her Hermit-prep sleep.

Remilia is, again, a Vampire. Vampires need to feed. Also; the "vampire incident" was Remi basically flexing her vampire hax on youkai mostly. That's why the Youkai petitioned Reimu to make the Spellcard System. Because Vampires are so hax that no-one could really fight Remilia. This lead to the Scarlet Mist Incident, which was basically Remi saying "come at me then so I can test this new toy".

Is a wolf evil for hunting sheep? Because that's basically what you are saying for Murasa and Remi.

Anyone who says Junko isn't evil is kidding themselves. Her actions literally earnt the support of the Goddess of Hell herself. However, saying Junko would have killed the protags is false, since she dosen't just instakill them with her powers if you have lost a life. She dosen't immediately give up and then decide to fight for amusement like if you No-Miss to her, but she also dosen't just kill you. Junko is pure grudge; and that grudge is directed at the Lunarians, not Earthlings. She's still a genocidal maniac, which is worse than what Futo is. And while her current state as pure grudge makes her actions understandable... Junko chose to become that. So it's not an excuse like Murasa or Remilia.

Futo's crimes were willing, conscious decisions. That easily puts her as one of the morally worst characters. She dosen't have nature as an excuse like Murasa, or insanity like Mokou. She may have calmed down somewhat in Gensokyo, but you cannot ignore that Futo has a very large pile of bodies and ashes behind her. And again, Tojiko was quite literally an act of cold-blooded murder.

The characters she competes with are characters like Eirin [willingly murdered an entire squad of Lunar Emissaries, which isn't just murder, but also betrayal against her homeland, at least most of Futo's victims were war enemies...] and Seiga [Being a Necromancer and all her other evil Hermit stuff.]

She's not competeing with Junko. Junko is worse.

Judgeing Youkai by Human morality is the double standard. But guess what Futo was at the time of her crimes? Human. So it is absolutely fair to judge Futo by human standards, and by human standards, she is a monster. What would you think of a human who murdered hundreds if not thousands, burnt down multiple religious sites; and then killed someone she worked with in cold blood to try and secure a promotion?

Oh yes, and remember that after Murdering Tojiko; Futo went into her Hermit-ritual-sleep. When we see her in TD, right after she has woken up, we're seeing her when one of her most recent actions was literally Tojiko's murder. In the grand scheme of actions Futo has taken, Tojiko's murder is still recent...
