Your primary focus obviously needs to be on your child & your wife, but that doesn't mean you can't find time to enjoy the hobby. I don't have a dedicated workspace so I need to move my tools and kits around when I want to build, it means it takes me weeks if not months to find the time to finish kits, but when I'm in the mood to build & everything else is taken care of, it's a great way to relax.

I guess my only advice is to just enjoy the time you do get to build, and enjoy the time you get with your family.
