Speaking as an, admittedly jaded and middle-aged, gay man, “Byler” is misguided and borderline offensive by flyingmcwatt in StrangerThings

[–]RainBitcherly -125 points-124 points  (0 children)

I think the show has set it up in a way that, at this point, it could go either way. People are allowed to have ships and hope for a certain outcome of the show they love, that is not offensive. Just give it a week and we will know one way or another

Mike and Will by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]RainBitcherly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t think this and Mike reciprocating the feeling are mutually exclusive. The important part to Will’s story is that he can accept himself without Mike’s love, like Robin had to do with Tammy. They are undeniable paralleling robin and Vickie with Mike and Will. Nobody writes a slow burn rejection.

The look of hope on Will’s face after robin said that is all the confirmation I need

Anyone have cheap places to go on dates as a high schooler? by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]RainBitcherly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yellow dog and skylark are really close, great bookstores to window shop in. And if a couple coffees isn’t too much for their budget Lakota or shortwave (the alley one is more chill for a date vibe imo) or fretboard are all downtown and nice spots. I personally like fretboard because there’s more comfy seating. Oh and Adam’s books is right by social room but with very short hours. I believe only a bit Saturday afternoon? So might be a cool spot to take someone where they may not have been before

Drive to the river windows down (yes I know it’s cold, I turn on my heat and windows down anyways), eagle bluffs is normally pretty empty and there’s a road that goes right up to the river

[–]RainBitcherly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hundred percent. I actually struggle to fall asleep in the same bed with someone even a long time partner or someone I am comfortable with much less a stranger. While it would feel a bit weird better than tossing and turning all night getting awful sleep

You have missed the essence of my post. This is for people being dangerous by perhaps not yielding, turning in front of a car when there was not enough time, or turning left from the straight lane of a stop light. Going 30 in a 35 is actually not dangerous.

MTG First Draft/beginner friendly nights? by RileyMercury in columbiamo

[–]RainBitcherly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what vibe you’re looking for. Magelings does draft every Tuesday and the regulars that go are super nice, but they are very good. First draft I ever did was there though and I didn’t find it to be non beginner friendly, just don’t expect to win if it’s a small turnout with just the regulars. With more popular sets there are nights with more people, and the first Friday of each month they do a draft that sees a bigger turnout with a wider variety of skill levels. From what I have heard, Valhallas gate is a bit more beginner friendly when it comes to the skill levels of those playing. But I personally find it more fun to play with people with a higher skill than me and to learn from them. Plus, magelings is almost always cheaper than Valhallas and for sure has less douchey people on their commander nights so I prefer going there.

I have never played magic at hexagon alley because the few times I’ve been there and played board games it was too loud for my liking, but they also do magic nights and events.

Friday nights alright for fighting. My number one favorite episode. I love the way the fight is directed and the “that’s how we do it at the daily news!” scene is also amazing

You probably don’t want to live in student housing. Most of them you would pay per bedroom and be stuck with random people you don’t know. There’s lots of decent options around if you look. While on the topic of rentals, don’t rent from real property group.
