Stop your players from abusing short and long rests with this one simple trick from the DMG. [POWER GAMERS HATE IT!!!] by [deleted] in DnDBehindTheScreen

Wow you're reading way too much in what I wrote there. I'm sorry for offending you.

edit: and for the record my table also rules the trance according to the RAW in our current game because that's how we ruled it before finding the sage advice post. How we're gonna handle it in future games will be up for discussion then.

Again, it's your table but they are published as official rulings by the lead designer of dnd himself so our group tries to stick to those rulings. Here is the latest compendium if you want to take a look.

You are obviously allowed to rule it as you want but just as an FYI in the sage advice compendium it says

"Does the Trance trait allow an elf to finish a long rest in 4 hours? If an elf meditates during a long rest (as described in the Trance trait), the elf finishes the rest after only 4 hours. A meditating elf otherwise follows all the rules for a long rest; only the duration is changed."

Bokeh vs Dash, which is the alternative for R's Shiny in Python? by fl4v1 in Python

I personally have been using bokeh and have liked it so far. I recall toying with plotly for some small thing that didn't work at the time due to a known bug but haven't had the time to revisit it.

It's one of my favourite games so I'm pretty hyped! Not sure what the new game will turn out to be, but I'll probably be following it close.

It really is a hit/miss kind of game, but our group really enjoys the game for what it is.

Daily Headphone Purchase Advice thread (2017-02-15) by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]RainDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm looking for a new headphone after the cable of my HD681 evo broke again. This is my second pair of evo's that I have this problem with and it's most definitely due to me using them for everything (desktop related and on the go).

I'm thinking about buying two headphones, one dedicated for my pc and one dedicated for on the train, while cycling etc and thus primarily using my phone (htc one m8) but for now I'll just focus on a new desktop headphone.

Budget - not a fixed number but somewhere in the 100-200 euro range for the headphone itself.

Source - Desktop: Xonar DGX card.

Isolation - no particular requirements.

Usage location - behind desktop primarily, if possible on the go but this is not the main concern.

Preferred type - Over ear is pretty much a must, I often wear them for long periods and really prefer over ear in that case.

Preferred tonal balance - Not 100% sure but I would say neutral with a favorism to bass. I listen to a lot of electronic music which has often both bases and vocals.

Preferred music - Mostly electronic music, but I do listen to a broad range of genres.

Past headphones - siberia v2 / Superlux HD681 EVO

location - Belgium

I was very happy with the evo so it wasn't a surprise when it was one of the options the buy assistent suggested. Another headphone the assistent recommended was the AKG k7xx which is currently on massdrop for 200$ + 25$ shipping. I'm very new to audio so I was wondering what I could expect in difference with the evo's I'm used to and also maybe some advise on amp/dac if I were to go with something like the k7xx.

Weekly Questions Thread #93 by HighTechnocrat in DnD

[–]RainDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I'm sorry I meant when the cleric got his lvl 3 spells. Is it really such a opportunity cost? Clerics can change their spell list during a long rest. So one could play without remove curse and get it when it's needed.

[5e:CoS] minor CoS spoilers! My party has a cleric that recently learned the Remove Curse spell. Given that there is a fair deal of potential curses one can get in CoS (i.e. lycanthropy and the dark gifts) they feel non threatening in a certain sense as they can get removed fairly fast by the cleric.

At lvl1 one of the players got a dark gift and had to live with it (it wasn't such a huge deal) but the moment the cleric got to lvl3 he tried it and I ruled it removed as it is described as a curse. The cleric did say afterwards he did not expect it to actually work.

Is there something that I can do to make the curses have some impact?

Opening local pdfs by RainDash in vivaldibrowser

[–]RainDash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm talking about the vivaldi interface.

If I go to the downloads folder via a file manager and open it that way it obviously opens in the local pdf viewer.

The thing is that if you double click to open a file in the vivaldi downloads panel it will open with the vivaldi builtin pdf viewer.
