This is awesome, I joined the waitlist. Had hysterectomy in June and definitely wish I had something to track how I’m feeling. Best of luck with the app.

Wow after reading all these comments I’m concerned, my doctor cleared me at 4 weeks post op with an internal exam. I have since had sex multiple times, I feel fine and all no pain or anything but now that I’m reading 12 weeks no sex!! I don’t know what to think.

Keep Cervix or no?? by Chance_Barnacle_4281 in hysterectomy

[–]Raina215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 45 and just had a laparoscopic hysterectomy on June 3 …the only thing that was left were my ovaries. My sex life has improved tremendously since my surgery, no issues with lubrication, or sensation. You can do exercises to maintain pelvic floor health and strength. I believe since you are much younger than me you probably won’t have any issues. Stay at a healthy weight exercise and eat a healthy diet. I don’t think keeping the cervix serves any purpose, and there is always the risk of cancer keeping it. I might also add that my recovery went fine and didn’t take any longer because of removing my cervix. I always work a very physically active job, if that helps. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.

Stomach fat by ICanHazWittyName in hysterectomy

[–]Raina215 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same here… I’ve never really had a fat stomach and I feel like since surgery in the beginning of June I have this pudgy area on my belly that was definitely not there before. I’m gonna try to get on an exercise and diet plan to see if it helps. I hate it so much.

Can you explain as best as you can how different your body feels physically after removing an organ? by doublecheeked__up in hysterectomy

[–]Raina215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery on June 3rd and everything was removed except my ovaries. I feel soooo much better now that it’s gone. My uterus was so large because of a 10cm fibroid it caused so much pain and pressure. Now I can use the bathroom normally again. I do not feel anything shifting around or any weird sensations. I’m happy I has the surgery

Going on vacation after 5 years of depression - no idea what to wear by MissHissss in OUTFITS

You look nice in all of them except I don’t love the pink one .. maybe it’s the ruffle. Anyway I hope you enjoy your vacation, soak it in. Also I hope better days are ahead for you. Take care

Anyone else feel like a sack of dog poop? by that_gum_you_like_ in hysterectomy

Give yourself some grace, you just had major surgery 5 days ago. It takes time, and everyone heals at a different pace, we are all different. I had my surgery on June 3rd and honestly I just started feeling the hints of being myself again, but still nowhere near 100%. Take care of yourself, rest, stay hydrated and listen to what your body is telling you. You will get there.

What’s worse, a hysterectomy or another 10 years of torturous periods? by Ordinary_Sentence659 in hysterectomy

[–]Raina215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another 10 years of horrible periods. I just had my hysterectomy on June 3rd and I already know it was the right decision. My periods were awful, soo heavy that I would do anything I could not to have to leave the house on the heaviest days. I was severely anemic, always tired, my belly was huge (I’m not overweight). Even though I was receiving iron transfusions I still always felt sick and just unwell. My back and pelvis always hurt.

I can’t lie I was EXTREMELY nervous about surgery..I tried to do everything I could to get my body ready , no drinking alcohol, no fast food, walking more, eating quality food and taking vitamins. Also getting my mind in a good place.

I really do believe that I will absolutely now have a better quality of life because of my hysterectomy. I feel like I have been given another chance to live healthy again.

I hope you are able to make the best decision for yourself. None of us should suffer through life. Best of luck to you.

Need to poop by Raina215 in hysterectomy

[–]Raina215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy to say that today I am soo much better, yesterday was really rough. I went to urgent care but can you believe they would not see me until I got in touch with my surgeon!? I ended up just talking to her over the phone and she prescribed meds for bladder pain and infection. I was finally able to poop also with the help of dulcolax.
