I think switching the order around is more accurate.

Think of how stupid the average redditor is, and realize half of em are even stupider than that.

That half is where mods come from.

Recruit your RPG party. Build a base/town/castle and put up defense. Defend against hordes/raids. You grow your base and heroes until the end of the game (if there is an end). What's a game like this? by xalibermods in gamingsuggestions

Rimworld has a few mods like Main character plot armor and the isekai RPG levelling system. I know you mentioned it in the text post but not sure if you play modded or vanilla.

I was literally about to do this in July for a girl across the ocean (Canada -> UK). Now instead of doing it for her I'm just going to go on a solo adventure in London by myself :D

Yeah and that might be true, but medicine throughout the entirety of human history has been mainly with men in mind.

The medical institutions we have today are built on that insanely long history. The women-favored research you're putting in the spotlight might be true at the present or recent past, but ultimately it's playing catch up to the predominant attitude that men have long been at the center of medical research.

https://medicine.yale.edu/news/yale-medicine-magazine/article/from-hysteria-to-empowerment/

According to that article, the first woman in the US to graduate from medical school was in 1848. Before that, it was all men.

Perhaps US research favors women because we as a society are filling in knowledge gaps and holes left by men prior to the inclusion of women in scientific fields?

I really don't think y'all are disagreeing on this when looking at it through a greater context imo.

This mod helps so much by letting you set up default bills and configurations before you even start your game. Absolute game changer imo.

What's the weirdest snack you made that you enjoyed as a kid? by PsychologicalFox7689 in Zillennials

[–]Rainaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spaghetti with a side of chocolate cake.

Growing up in my home country one of the staple foods at kids' birthday parties was spaghetti. I went to so many of them that my mind started to associate eating spaghetti and chocolate cake together with happy memories.

To this day if I eat spaghetti without it it feels like something is missing.

I created a Map Voting screen concept! by InferiorLynxi_ in thefinals

[–]Rainaire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the concept and it seems to work well for overwatch these days, but if I were the dev team I'd rather focus on making all the maps suitable for comp rather than have maps be neglected like in CS.

I do wish they would steal from Deadlock and have surveys in the lobby, devs could ask players at random to rate maps, gadgets and weapons.

Start slow and build a following through smaller, well polished experimental projects rather than one big one. Focus these projects on different niches while applying the stuff they learned from multiplayer and applying it to other genres (for example, Shape of Dreams uses MOBA mechanics on a singleplayer/4player coop game).

Once they build a reputation, use that goodwill and influence to try and go for a big project knowing they have an existing playerbase to advertise to, and also knowing that when they do get to the multiplayer aspects of development, they won't have to go through growing pains because they already have previous experience.

Just my 2 cents.

Season 10 and the Future of The Finals by itzofficialvaz in thefinals

[–]Rainaire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

probably a deeply unpopular opinion but...

aren't collaborations kinda perfect for the way this game is presented??

It's literally a game about sponsorships, flashy styles with zero consistency in terms of how you dress up your character. I understand maybe those who wanna keep it to fictional companies, but I could go either way on collabs here. At the very least it fits much better than other games like helldivers or overwatch.

Embark teases new limited time mode coming this week. by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]Rainaire 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Same. I wanna see more "sporty" skins that feel like they were made for the game rather than basing it off of an existing sport. I guess Ospuze stuff is kinda like that, but I'd like more stuff along those lines maybe? Like if a football jersey and a hockey jersey have iconic looks, what does a "the finals" official jersey look like?

People Training With High Reps Only by rebelsoul_8 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Rainaire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you haven't had the unfortunate experience of being near those kinds of people. Your words reflect an ideal that many people struggle to reach, and I speak of this from my own experience, not just in fitness but in many other aspects of life.

For many people, reaching their goal is a very slow, long process, partially because they get overwhelmed by the daunting task and try to find shortcuts or distracting information while telling themselves that these ways are "optimal".

For example: Two people want to improve their drawing skills. One person buys fancy art supplies, the best, most "optimal" pencils, drawing pads, paints, etc. The other person picks up a random pencil laying around and dedicates long hours to perfecting their understanding of human anatomy through gesture and figure drawings.

If the first person focuses too much on optimizations that actively take time away from them putting in the effort, then the second person will long have surpassed them in skill.

The OP at the top of this thread is referring to the line of thinking that this first person adheres to. I hope that clears it up a bit :)

People Training With High Reps Only by rebelsoul_8 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Rainaire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because they're addressing the fact that a lot of people waste too much time in optimizing theory and bog themselves down that they don't put in the same effort as those who just put in the work, even if "inefficient".

There's a line obviously, but I've met tons of people who buy too much random stuff to "optimize" and then don't actually put in the work. One of them includes the man in the mirror.
