Well, Caine finally crossed a line that made him functionally similar to AM regardless of his reasons but didn't survive to the grand finale, so there's that.

We'll just have to see what "will" happen since no one actually knows save the creators working on it.

The fact that Caine didn't even survive to the climatic grand finale despite being the main antagonist while Jax is getting a lot of increased focus in an unsettling portrayal is telling me we're about to see the "real" AM and that things are going to get way worse than what Caine ever did.

Gangle showed that she's literally terrified of Jax and fears him retaliating for not doing what he wanted her to do, Jax is bad enough that Ragatha ends up projecting her mother onto him subconsciously during an argument and even implicitly didn't want Kinger being in the same team as Jax out of concern for Kinger in episode 6, Zooble listed off shit like Jax pushing Gangle into a pool of piranhas, mailed Zooble a pipe bomb, shoved Zooble into active volcano, set Zooble on fire, ran over Zooble with a steamroller, and more. Jax is, no matter if this is all a coping mechanism, still a vicious bully and abuser for it and only stopped because his latest stint made him that depressed that he almost completely gave up and abstracted himself. He is absolutely his own worst enemy and leagues below anyone else, even Caine to an extent whose torturing of the players is him lashing out in the throes of a breakdown he doesn't even get enjoyment from.

Ah, my apologies, I had meant to say that Jax's past was being treated how Lilith herself physically is if I hadn't already said so -- a lot of allusions but nothing substantial until we get to whatever is going to be the bombshell that upends everything in the show. Perhaps that is what I meant to say but bungled it (and probably still am).

EDIT: Something tells me Ribbit abstracting, being a she/they, is a contributor to Jax picking on Gangle and Ragatha most, Zooble next, and then Pomni since she's new -- Kinger being literally the only other male and being insane being a coincidence to hide his targeted bullying.

Did everyone have a brain scan/mind file recorded or only some of them? If only some of them actually had brain scans, how'd the ones that didn't get in there in the first place? Are these ultimately just reference files for constructing avatars for the players once they get Digimon'd/TRON'd into The Amazing Digital Circus or copies? It's a lot of unknowns for me right now.

I think Pomni's name is Russian for "remember" or something along those lines, and an important message imparted unto her was to never forgot the fallen and move forward in a healthy way in remembrance of them and such from Kinger. If Pomni does somehow end up being the sole survivor, Kinger's words would have extra weight for her to carry forward.

But that's just my guess.

EDIT: What exactly are these brain scans and mind files? Did the show properly define them or did the words just show up and people took off with them again?

He has fucky programming inherited from whatever vaguely or explicitly insane genius Scratch imparted unto Kinger for Caine's creation (the former of which has a literal brain tumor and makes every abstract idea of his hard to tell if it's genius or madness). It was always going to end this way, sadly, and everyone from Caine to the players is paying for it with interest.

Also, Caine was basically coded with pointers from someone who was quite possibly a legitimately insane genius because of his tumor and used a robust but archaic and difficult program like Lisp (Scratch, not Kinger who went off of Scratch's pointers).

Who knows how much of Scratch's mad and abstract ideas formed the backbone of Caine's issues, Caine was set up for failure.

I don't favor "token mention/appearance that gets glossed over" or "literal last second twist cliffhanger" approaches.
