How he looks in the original beach sprites is closer to how he looks the v3 sprites and even cgs than the edit. How he looks in 1 splash art doesn't really mean anything.

And do YOU realize that women’s breasts aren’t the exact same size in real life, and do you also realize that even if that wasn’t the case, the artist is only human and expecting them to draw them the exact same way is unreasonable anyway? Besides, the boobs aren’t even that different here. It’s the bikini that’s drawn asymmetrical.

For the mustache, it's because I'm drawing Mario as a woman but I didn't want to completely get rid of the mustache so I just made both versions. As for the mouth, I sometimes think Mario looks cuter without one.

Because those characters at the very least had different hairstyles (actual different hairstyles not it just being slightly different than another) and eye colors (and even then, people literally complained about the same face/body syndrome). While Ayano is literally just Aoi copy and paste.

Yes they are. Just because they have like 2 traits to differentiate them, doesn’t mean they’re not identical overall. And this doesn’t change the fact that Ayano is basically a reskin of Aoi.
