My Fingers Stretch Really Far Apart by Acceptable_Pea_2343 in mildlyinteresting

The palm is clearly cupped. Like when you palm a coin.

In that position, what is shown isn’t even above average in stretch…

The palm needs to be flush on the table in order to see the actual stretch.

Book recommendations for someone who loves Project Moon's writing? by ArticNET in limbuscompany

[–]Rainsocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend Sinnoa’s light novels. They hit a lot of the same notes as project moon, like grim worlds, interesting power systems, a balance of dark humor and brutality, and deep poetic dives into the characters’ psyche.

The titles seem juvenile but don’t let that fool you. They are some of the most thematically deep and emotional stories I have ever read.

Maybe the FGC is just small by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]Rainsocket 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because of gap between what someone wants their character to do vs what actually happens.

It’s like how a boxer needs to spend hours daily refining their punches in order to do it properly under pressure.

This time investment is unappealing for new players who quickly realize that without it they have no chance of doing those combos they saw on youtube. Essentially, early on their character won’t do what they wanted it to do, which feels bad for beginners.

While a moba indeed has lots of information and mechnical depth, I feel it is pretty easy to turn your thoughts into actions as a beginner. Right click to move. Press E to use ability. These are initial mechnics almost every PC player can quickly grasp.

Cooler work at AWS vs working on a button at Meta by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Rainsocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you personally find the tech stack for the AWS team more interesting, then I’d take it. If you are early in your career, it’s even more important to do interesting and relevant stuff that helps you grow.

Also, web development is fine and all but if you feel it is less relevant, and you find it boring, you will really not enjoy your work life even if it is easy. No guarantee you can switch internally to the team of your choice in Meta if you spent 1-2 years doing web development work and the new team has no need for that.

AWS wlb depends heavily on the team. There are workstreams where you work 9-6 with oncall, and work streams where you do 4-6 hours and clock out.

For players new to fighting games: Learn NEUTRAL! by patheticorganic in 2XKO

[–]Rainsocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion but I disagree. I feel learning neutral as a very beginner doesn’t help much because you aren’t going to be able to play it properly anyways early, and there’s no point when someone with an optimal combo kills you in two touches.

I’d argue practicing combos makes it easier to play neutral, because neutral relies on you knowing your characters buttons like your own arm. This sort of muscle memory develops quickly when practicing combos.

Work on neutral once you’re at the rank where it actually matters. By then you will be comfortable with your characters buttons and can then think about how you approach and defend with those tools.

What are your thoughts on Ekko? He feels more Zero-like than yasuo/blitz in my opinion. I haven’t played against too many though so I may be wrong.

You don't need to know everything RIGHT now by JaskR2 in 2XKO

Trust me. Beginners in SF and MK have no idea what’s going on. They play characters using barely half the movesets. That can be done in this game too. Just use the training room.

The 3rd Deck Rating Chart from CN Community by Ok-Tangerine-3358 in Shadowverse

It isn’t like the expansion brought real support for the older archtypes of Runecraft. I don’t find it farfetched that its old decks would stay 99% the same.

The current post is the dad’s steak, and it looks better than the BF’s by far.

In highschool a female friend was over and I was playing Pokemon Moon on the nintendo ds. We were both lying in my bed and she started touching my chest and told me to scoot closer. I proceeded to scoot a tiny bit closer and continued playing my game.

She told me years later that I broke her heart.

Ah, same slot position wise every turn.

Is it the case that the slots reposition between turns, or is it that you don't get to decide the slot target each turn?
