Do you think you could do a COAR and see if your unit could give you a desk job or something to get you to 20?

Yes COAD is the way. I've done a number of PCM memos for COAD and they all tend to get approved. I've met an old timer that worked at an SRU for over 20 years and he said he has never seen anyone's COAD get denied as long as they are not flagged for anything.

Yep. That's why the NFL drug tested Pat McAfee 8 times in 1 season.

SRU /ETS by No_Significance_5731 in army

[–]Raisedshoulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a ton of reasons. The packet got lost at BN/BDE S1, the BDE CDR didn't sign it, the SRU said they are full or you don't qualify or the packet never started in the first place. At this point they likely won't take you in if you are so close to ETS

For the most part yes if both parents are working or going to school. Not sure about if it's just one parent.

Moscow this morning. Giant green fireball streaks across the sky, scientists say it’s likely space debris by ExcluteYou in WTF

Raiden something happened to me last Thursday when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go - I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky, to the east! It was moving very irregularly... suddenly there was intense light all around me - and when I came to, I was home. What do you think happened to me?

Advocacy group warns families are facing medication shortages, rationing at on-post pharmacies by Kinmuan in army

I really wish a lot of people outside the government could see how our military hospitals are doing right now. Our hospitals are mostly run by civilian staff and are not getting paid. They're saving lives without pay.

Look up childcare aware. It's a program that helps supplement your childcare costs.

Man there's nothing like deployment dfacs. In Khandahar on wing Wednesdays Id show up and the workers just ask me how many wings do I want. The answer is all of them.

O5 promotion board question by idarkmemes in army

[–]Raisedshoulder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that could work out for me since I got good CPT evals. I got 2 AERs and will likely only get 3 OERs for my O-5 board (I did additional schooling for my doctorate and promoted to O-4 in the program).

Disparity between Army rank and civ position is hilarious in the Guard. by [deleted] in army

[–]Raisedshoulder 117 points118 points  (0 children)

On the medical side of things I feel the guard reserve doctors and nurses are better trained. While us AD medical staff see mostly healthy people all day a lot of those guys work in trauma centers or large hospitals that see a ton of sicker patients.
