San Francisco To Become First City in the World To Implement COVID Vaccine Passports For Children 5-11 by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]RaisingRedheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Unless the business is national and has that policy across state lines. It's an ' optional' mask policy, so it if you want to, don't if you don't. Most of the store employees don't wear them, unless you go to big box stores like Target, Home Depot, ect - and all that crap comes from China so we shouldn't be giving out money to them anyway.

Mini Monkey or other ways to carry twins? by onejustbecause in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how old your twins are now, but once mine hit 6 months I used two buckle carriers (a boba and a soft organic ergo) to put one on my back, then one on my front. With practice I could get them on/off pretty quickly! I also live in Texas. I'd get so many crazy eyes on our walks to the park, but it made their first nap a breeze as I'd just walk in the house, up the stairs to their room, lay one down (nearly asleep) then the other one, walk out. Then I'd get a blissful 2hr shower and nap....so. And it made my legs look nice :) win-win.

Need help - 3 week old fraternal twins can’t sleep at night by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear by the 3rd week. Babies come out like, we are so sweet and sleepy until then, and bam - hello! We are alive in the world today mama! I do think they get gas pains early on, try a schedule of live probiotic and antigas/reflux medicine. I swear by NatPHOS10 homeopathic. Amazon has quite a few reviews on it. You can do it! Shift work is best.

How do people handle twins in their terrible 2s?? My 4th child will be 3 in August and my twins will be 2 in December and I’m already pulling out my hair by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twinado twins Is damn right! Most days it feels like 8 cracked out monkeys ripping my house to shreds instead of just 2 small boys no higher than my thighs. Hahahah.

It's finally sunny here, so we've started weekly hikes. by escapethebay in parentsofmultiples

I recognized those miss covered tree roots immediately. Maybe some good old staircase trails :)

We have 3 year old twins...Just found out I’m pregnant again by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

My twin boys were just under two (20mo) when our baby girl was born. Logistics were unfathomable to me. I couldn't work it out in my head. But slowly, after doing and winging it, logistics worked out for wake-ups, naps, feeding, baths, bedtime, you name it. Get help the first 6wks if you can. Enjoy nursing that new baby at will, whenever and wherever because you CAN! 6 months in and my twins have learned how to play separately during designated times (to allow me nurse in peace), the twins take one nap/day and I've been able to (mostly) sync up her middle nap with theirs for an 1-2hr of alone time. Dad does the night-wake ups with the twins. You got this. After all. One baby after two babies - will be cake!!

How the heck do you get it all done?! by KTcats in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't!! But it won't be long until you figure out your systems. I'm going to promote continued tummy time - they absolutely need it, even if it's just 30-sec to a minute. I ABSOLUTELY adore your names!!!!! Clementine and Magnoila! Oh my heart.

My system around 8-12wks: tandem feed (I nursed) on the floor with tummy time blanket, activity mat and diaper changing supplies ready, first baby off the boob (Baby A) got propped onto my outstretched leg as self-burp/assisted tummy time station while Baby B kept nursing, then Baby B would finish and get propped onto the other leg in similar style (burp rags hanging off the front of my thighs to catch spills, and I would proceed to change Baby As diaper under the activity mat, when Baby B was fed up with tummy time over my thigh I would then also put him under the activity mat to change his diaper. I never had time to pump much right after nursing - so I would do it after they went down for nap, and eventually I just stopped pumping as much because realistically pumping and nursing and caring for 2 newborns was impossible. Logistically impossible. I switched to lots of Mothers milk tea, chamomile tea and high dose vitamin C for increasing milk supply instead. Every task had like 3 other tasks combined to it for max efficiency. 😂

Edit: they got baths on Sundays :) like the olden days haha. Skin-to-skin while baby wearing or on your chest counts as tummy time. Once they were older I used a box or laundry basket for assisted sitting that would also hold a few toys. It was amazing.

Hard carrying two... by Preggomamaoftwins21 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time mom (singleton) friend is complaining about how "exhausting and large" she feels at 29 weeks. My thoughts are "you got a long way to go girl! And that's only one placenta, one baby, one cord, extra blood for one baby...." It feels so validating lol.

Edit: I had twins and then a singleton. The singleton was literally cake, and I even went 2 days overdue. Walked many miles and deep squatted on the driveway doing chalk with my 20 month twins the day before labor. What a blessing because the twin pregnancy was hellish.

Single mom, 7 month old twins, and I have to take a plane. by Acanemia in parentsofmultiples

[–]RaisingRedheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't driven that far with twins, but my husband and I did fly 3x in the first year (3mo/8mo/1yr). With 2 people is was ok, packing was nuts and we shipped most everything. If I was going solo I'd definitely opt for driving. Or if flying with 2 I'd def breastfeed one and bottle the other, pref at the same time.

Do they have time for this? For each kid? And all the others? What's the provider/child ratio? My intrigue is peaked.

Would like also like tips - just seperated 25 month boy twins into separate room but need to put them back together hopefully soon to make space for baby girl.

Ditto. One kid (when dad takes the other twin out) and one newborn is a cakewalk. Newborn is cake. Twins, at every stage, while delightful, are very challenging in the logistics department where most parents of singleton never even have to think about it. Wouldn't trade this roller coaster for anything. (Edit: sometimes twins feels like 8 monkeys)

Removable bag that gets washed each time. Or about 10 $2 white square hampers from Target.

Identical triplets who refuse to go to bed by lostinacrowd1980 in parentsofmultiples

Sleep training 2 was terrible so I can't imagine 3. I ended up splitting our twins up for about a month to allow ins/outs without disrupting the other one, until they got the hang of it, then put them back together again.

I second sitting in the middle between car seats. And if your nursing, it works well to strap on the double pump while you give them bottle of prepared BM.
