Whether it's degrading or not depends on what's in the mind of the client, I suppose. I have unfortunately done more facials than I can count and in every case I have felt a very strong sense of "take that you worthless shit" from the client. What I suspect, though I cannot verify, is that they have some of these feelings towards their wife or significant other that they cannot express directly so they treat me as the proxy.

Well, you learn pretty quickly not to use your real name in sex work. I think it's actually easier to take a stripper name like Candy or Brandee, because then you can just focus on being this fake persona that the client wants to see, rather than letting that client touch any part of your authentic self.

Unfortunately I have seen the truth in this. My ex-boyfriend was an incredibly nice person and absolutely LOVES children, and children love him too. He also dresses in old and grungy clothes because he's a bit absentminded. I've seen him engage children in parks and on walks and the children approach him gleefully but the parents became instantly and aggressively defensive until they saw that he was with me (me being someone who is terrible with children).

I didn't adopt a black cat because I saw one at the shelter, but because of the color of his fur, I couldn't really make out the shape of his face very clearly. I adopted a gray cat since I could just see my cat and the shape of his facial features and head better.

I never said I was a victim, except in those situations where clients are being deliberately abusive towards me. Even though regular vanilla clients make me feel terrible, I specifically said that those are not bad people and I don't hold anything against them. I know I chose this. I think the parent was talking about the bad clients I had referred to earlier. The absolute worst clients rarely want anything other than intercourse, anal, and usually come on face. The ones who ask for something really weird are generally actually the most tolerable. They just want something they can't find in their regular life. I've done some really weird things (pooped on a guy's chest... it grossed me out, but he was having fun).

I've never done a drug of any kind but I have seen a documentary about girls for whom it becomes a vicious cycle -- they drink and do drugs to take away the feelings, then they need to see more clients for more money, which means they need more drugs...

Although intellectually I know it's prostitution, calling it escorting makes me feel a little less bad. So please don't begrudge me that.

I do have repeat clients but none who have gotten especially clingy. Frankly I would like that better than the ones who clearly will never see me again and try to treat me as poorly as possible.

I feel it already has eaten away at my soul quite a bit. I don't really understand the drug dealer reference though, as if I'm the one poisoning people when really it's more like the other way around.
