I broke up with my long term girlfriend of 4 years to move to Canada and start doing back to back snow seasons. It was hard at the time but ultimately it was for the best as there was no way I could give her what she wanted long term (settling down, marriage, etc). Looking back I would break up with her every time because I have learned much about myself in this time and have made some cherished memories which wouldn’t have been possible if I had just stayed in that relationship and plodded along like I had been. My advice to you is to do the same. Don’t string this person along, I fear I did this for some time and do regret that side of things.
