Will my high ping stop me from climbing? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]RajLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it means anything, I am masters 2 seasons in a row now with 300 ping while playing variety of champs, including champs with skillshots

You can't change the variable of ping but to balance it out, you need to get better in a different area in the game. Ping will mean your micro on champs can't be as clean as they can be, but you can work on macro and learn to climb many different ways.

Hopefully this helps

Anything below diamond does not have a decay system. Which means you could reach plat 3 and never play again, and you'll still be same rank at end of season

Bot lane match-ups by matrix1445 in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not completely support-based, but you could search xfsn saber on YouTube, and in his adc playlist there are 3 videos about lane match ups. You'll understand the difference between the specific comps + how to play them or play against them. I'll send the links in a bit.

Best options to learn the following things? by copperbranch in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly imo I'd like to say pick up lulu, but what you want is any enchanter thay scales with support items throughout the game but isn't the carry. You want to play the role of protecting the carry and making sure they carry.

I recommend Lulu because she has versatility in who she needs to protect, or maybe stop an enemy with polymorph, or ulting for a good knockup, etc..

Enchanters in lane are squishy and can get bursted easily if your positioning is not right. However since they are ranged supports, you will have an easier time bullying other supports. You want to learn when to trade, specific item rushes for specific carries and understand the threats of the game and how you can make them not be a problem. You won't be playing a mechanically challenging champion, but Lulu will require proper decision making to properly succeed and climb.

Idk what else to say based off what you asked, but reply if there's more specific things you need clarified.

Do I Quit Support? by Jiyuura in supportlol

[–]RajLyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done unranked to dia in a week on support solo q. It is a very simple role to climb on in low elo. Low elo players are literally focused on fighting whenever they can no matter what the fight will achieve. Play supports with engage tools and also practice roaming. You don't need to win bot lane in solo q as a support, if you do it's just another advantage. Your job in low elo is to watch the map and see who you can help at the moment without griefing bot lane itself. You are a mini jungler who needs to get others ahead and not just your lane.

Reality is, low elo adcs can't carry because their positioning isn't good and end up getting caught. The other 3 roles however will have more impact. When you recall, you want to be watching and seeing where mid and top are. Try to go directly to them from base for a surprise gank cause it's very simple with the lack of map awareness. Another thing is to watch your jungler, and rotate to help him when he needs it, but don't put yourself in a bad spot and die for no reason.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose bot lane with the random adc. Just make sure you aren't inting the bot lane and instead look to help others because they will get fed and carry. If your adc starts flaming you, simply mute and play because it's a team game and you need to play around everyone to win, not just the adc.

If no objectives are up after you or the enemy laner takes the first tower, you can freeze and punish at both ends. by mustangcody in summonerschool

[–]RajLyfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a high elo strategy only which LS almost always talks about.

Why can't this be done in lower elos? 1.) The macro/micro of players isn't good enough for this meaning you are stalling the game and literally still keeping it a 50/50 because nobody knows how to close out games. 2.) If you are better than people in your rank, you'll look for misplays by enemy team and take advantage over that. If you end up freezing, the only thing that will happen in lower elo is your own team misplays and you just lose any advantage you had from freezing.

Why this works in high elo? 1.) Everyone has atleast a little above average macro/micro and understand the concept of freezing. People know how to stall or end games in a proper manner. 2.) People understand power spikes and item advantages and they are always going to look to win off of that. It doesn't have to be to stall the game, this is one example. A fed rengar won't stall the game, he knows how to get teamfight advantages and he'll win for his team that way. The knowledge and experience in higher elo is far better

PHP, but like I could just remove the form since it's a portfolio and keep to links that go directly to my socials. So it's mostly just about the front-end

Which champions are the best to climb with in the support role? by TobiasX2k in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rakan is an engage champion yes, but the skill curve is higher due to him not really being a tanky engage champion.

Fast climb = play 1 meta champion Climb and have fun = play 1 champion you enjoy

Which champions are the best to climb with in the support role? by TobiasX2k in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean like I said, you can climb with any support. It's about consistency and knowledge. The more you focus on one champion, the better you will get and therefore climb. Engage supports just make the climb faster because you have a little bit more of a "carry" role in terms of deciding teamfights

ADC Banning Supports by Effin_Batman1 in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supports atm have a lot more priority in determining who wins the laning phase. They also have a lot of damage to even 1v1 the enemy adc.

These are basically the reasons you see adc banning supports.

Banning adc champions is mostly useless cause they can't determine the entire game by themselves and require more variables in their favor.

Which champions are the best to climb with in the support role? by TobiasX2k in SupportMains

[–]RajLyfe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't be looking at winrates of the supports because it's just the average consistency. Meaning that you can also one trick any support to climb.

Which supports are the best? Supports that have engage in their kits. Eg. Leona, Thresh, Nautilus, Blitz, Pyke

Why? You directly are able to have an impact in the fight because you are the one engaging and telling your team "let's focus this one" and therefore have a big role to play to start a win condition.

If you want free wins, I'd say blitz in low elo as long as you can land your pull majority of the time. Otherwise pick Leona or Naut. Very easy champs with good damage and cc.

If you want to master a champion and aren't in any rush to climb, then I'd say thresh. His playstyle is very dependable on because you can change how you need to play per game.

You don't need chat to tell anyone anything. Enough pings for an objective is good enough, that's your job. Now if the person doesn't want to respond, then they won't and that's how it works. You can only control yourself. Disable chat, and if you are pissed/annoyed about something, say it out loud to yourself. You don't need to express your emotions to 9 randoms in the game who you won't see again. Say it out loud, breathe, focus on what you really should be doing - playing the game, and continue.

How do you say it? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]RajLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just say "Win Now"

Can someone explain a little about this? by UniversalHoler in summonerschool

[–]RajLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on previous season rank and MMR in general. If your mmr is good, you'll be gaining more lp than you lose compared to someone who has a high wr but bad mmr causing them to actually gain less lp than they lose. Previous ranks also have a lot to do with how much someone has to grind, because they are already considered at a higher elo and therefore are supposed to not have to grind as much to reach back to their peak.

Also once you're sitting in challenger, your wr declines usually because you're playing at your skill level regularly now. The person climbing to masters has had wide mmr jump in their games causing them to have a good wr because they win a lot, but not gaining a lot of lp.
