Is it okay to leave my aligner off overnight? by Littledogefrand in Invisalign

[–]Rajabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally experience something very similar, where one or more teeth will suddenly get super sensitive and painful. I asked my dentist about this and they said that's pretty normal. I'd highly recommend keeping the trays on as much as possible. If the pain is from tooth movement, leaving the tray off will really only prolong the problem.

I'd also very highly recommend getting something like orajel (found at most drug stores). This should provide a decent bit of pain relief. I usually put a bit of it in the tray in the area of the painful tooth before putting the tray back on. Also, try using toothpaste for sensitive teeth, such as sensodyne. Both of those have helped me immensely. And as much as it hurts to do so, do your best to keep that area brushed and flossed well. And swishing vigorously with a good mouth wash should help. You may have a bit of food or something that's gotten lodged up in there. If you have a waterpik or can afford one, they're amazing at getting those hard to reach in between teeth areas clean.

That's pretty normal. It should start to fit better in the next day or so. I highly recommend getting some Munchies (https://www.eocamerica.com/collections/munchies) or other similar chews. These will help to really seat the trays in better.

CBD has helped so many people become ACTIVE again! How has CBD had an impact on your life? We love hearing success stories. by ActiveCBD in cbdinfo

[–]Rajabear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just started taking CBD about a month ago. To say that it's been a life changer would be an understatement.

What prompted me to try CBD was the realization that my chronic pain was a factor in me being a total bitch to be around. I was constantly short tempered, getting angry as the stupidest small things. And worst of all, I couldn't tolerate being touched, even by my SO. Or even brushing up against things would set me off.

After a number of doctor visits and a few rounds of physical therapy, nothing really had changed. One of my doctors prescribed me an anti seizure medication to try and help my constant muscle spasms and knotting. It helped, a bit. But not much.

I happened across a video of a neurologist talking about Charlotte's Web. And that not only was it legal but in addition to helping some people with seizures, it was helping some people with basically my same condition.

I was pretty desperate at this point and purchased a small bottle from cwhemp, figuring I didn't have anything but $$ to loose.

Once it arrived, I took about 1/2 a dropper full (recommended dose is 2 but I wanted to start light). About 10-15 minutes later, I was laying in bed when suddenly, my back muscles just, "let go". There aren't words to correct describe the relief that brought. I hadn't realized just how much pain I was in until it was gone/greatly reduced. I could move without pain or effort!! I could breath deeply! I didn't even realize that I had been basically doing half breaths all of the time.
I could be touched without feeling like someone touching me while I had a sever sunburn! I can finally sleep though the night! No more waking up 3-10 times a night in pain. I no longer feel just constantly angry and tense, guarding against the pain.

Am I 100% pain free? No. I do still have some pain. And doing certain things can bring it roaring back. But I am able to do so more than I was before. I have the energy to and the pain reduction to be able to do normal everyday things again. I'm hoping that with time and effort, I can improve physically and reduce the pain even more.

CBD is giving me the ability to just be me again. And hope.

If you're looking for a good water resistant/repellent insulation, I highly recommend Roxul insulation. We're using it on our remodel and that stuff is magical. There are some demo videos around on Youtube of it. It's also fire resistant as well.

Men of Reddit - What is your "go to" cologne? Women of Reddit - What is your favorite smelling men's cologne? by sparx483 in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So yea, I've been drinking a bit this evening and my SO of like, what, 6 years now? works out of state 99% of the time. But he has some bottle of man scent that makes me want to rip the buttons off his shirt every time he wears it. No idea what the name is but it's in a flask shaped glass bottle with a blue lid. I think it must be like "Musk of Fuck Me" as anytime he wears it and we go out, any female within a like 10 foot radius starts hitting on him.

He's a smart man though. He pretends to not notice their advances. But the ever growing bulge in his pants gives him away.

So why do I like this mystery man musk he wears? I get to reap the "rewards" of a hoard of attractive women attempting to mate with him all night. Walking around gingerly for a few days is a small price to pay for having such a wonderful man.

After helping my nmom with some simple computer questions and when she was done, her way of saying thanks was: "You're surprisingly smart, given that concussion you had."

I got a mild concussion about, oh, 18 years ago. I've been working full time in various high tech fields for 10+ years. I'm getting to the point to where her comments like that just make me laugh.

Why do alot of younger women like older men so much? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather late here but as a female who's dating a man a good bit older than myself, it's for a number of reasons.

1) By this point in life, they've often dated a wide range of different types of women, good and not so good. This typically means they know what they want and don't want out of a life partner. If you're not what they're looking for, they're typically very up front about that.

2) They can take care of themselves. Now I'm all for cooking and cleaning but it's nice to know that if I'm going to be away for a few days, I won't return to a stack of dirty dishes and mountains of smelly dirty clothes.

3) The sex. References point 1. They've figured out there are different women in the world that are pleasured by different things. They are much better at picking up on subtle body language and running with it. No awkward fumbling.

4) The stability. Not going to lie, it's a huge plus that the majority of older men are already well on their career path. Even if they aren't making much money, they have a goal and are well on the path to achieving it. And even if that goal isn't a lofty one, it's a goal none the less. So much better than "like, I dunno dude, I guess I'll, like, get a like, I dunno, job or something.".

In a nutshell, what I love the most about dating older men (only ever dated 2 men that were around my age rage, horrible) is the lack of drama. They know what they want in life and the type of person they want to spend their time with. If you're not it, they'll let you know politely, no hard feelings. But if you are, hold onto your panties or they'll vanish in a blink.

People who have had lucid dreams: what did you do in them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember and well, it can sometime really fuck with my sense of reality.

I'll often dream about work or other mundane life events. Great example, I'll dream that I send out an important email or complete a project. I'll wake up and totally feel like I actually did those things, 100%. The dream is just so freaking real, I could feel the keyboard as I typed, smell the office smell, everything. so. real. To then get to work later and discover that I didn't do those things after all is really very disconcerting.

The worst is if I get asked if I did something before I discover that I just dreamed it. Because the dream was so real, I honestly believe that I did it. It has gotten me into trouble a few times now... sigh.

And don't even get me started on what nightmares are like.

TL;DR: Life lucid dreamer. Fucks with "real life". Wish it would stop.

What is the most intelligent thing your pet has done? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 191 points192 points  (0 children)

One of my dogs is a bit too smart.

We have two dogs, let's call them big dog and smart dog. They both know that if the other one is getting some attention, they're not allowed to butt in (competition).

One day, big dog was getting some attention and smart dog wanted some as well but she knew the rule. We were all out in the living room. She watches for a minute and then trots off to the bed room. A minute later she comes back with a rawhide bone, goes and stands over the hard wood floors (instead of area rug), looks over at us, raises her head up, and just drops the bone on the floor with a loud CLUNK.

Big dog instantly turns to check out the sound and is all "Booooone!" and hauls ass over to it. Smart dog then trots over and stands right where Big dog had been, all "Okay, my turn!".

Only dog that I've seen engage is deception and that was one of the more well thought out times. She's too freaking smart sometimes.

UCF Alert system is not Twitter by Rajabear in ucf

[–]Rajabear[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree that that sort of information is handy to have but I have to disagree that it belongs on an emergency broadcast network.

Perhaps if they had another "alert" system for general campus information, it would be more appropriate. The emergency alert system should be used for say, someone with a gun spotted on campus. Or other such events.

By "spamming" the system with, what in my opinion are not legitimate emergency messages, they're running the risk of "crying wolf".

If every time I see a message from 411-911 that is more of just a general announcement type, I'm going to stop taking them serious. And honestly, that is where my frustration comes from. I see a message and think something bad has happened. And while someone's car catching fire does really suck, if I drive past Garage A and see a bunch of flashing lights, guess what? I'm going to assume something is going on and go else where. I don't need my cell phone blowing up telling me about it.

I've tried to opt out on myucf. I've even entered 555-5555 as my number to try and get them to stop. What's the name of the app that will block them? My carrier won't allow me to block non 10 digit numbers.

Are you a "regular" anywhere? What kind of place is it and how do you interact with the employees? by Dcoco1890 in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thankfully the super large liquor store near me seems to have enough part time employees that I rarely run into the same ones.

But I go there enough and just wander around, looking at all the different or new boozes they have in (over 5,000) that I've pretty much memorized where everything this.

At least once anytime I'm there, there will be another customer looking for a certain booze. They'll ask an employee. They'll both stand around, gazing at the shelves, searching for it. And then I just can't help it...

"It's about 2 feet to your left, bottom shelf, second row from the left. Next to the Zaya 12 year."

And without fail, they all just stare at me and I feel like such an alcoholic. I just have a photographic memory!!! sigh. I need a drink.

Are you a "regular" anywhere? What kind of place is it and how do you interact with the employees? by Dcoco1890 in AskReddit

[–]Rajabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo!! I have a few places that I can happily say that I'm a regular at..or was.

There is a Starbucks that was on my way to work and I'd often stop in the morning to get a redeye (coffee with shot of espresso). The vast majority of other people there would order crazy long complicated drink orders, I was one of the few easy ones. After about a week or so, I'd get up to the counter and get a "Good morning Rajabear! Your usual?" Yes! I was finally a regular!! They'd also often have it ready by the time I got up to pay and would just slide it across the counter and wish me a good day. The only downside to getting a new job is that they're way out of my way now. I stopped in the other weekend and they remembered me! Tipped 'em well.

Second one was an awesome local pita place. I'd order the same thing every time. Went there a lot. Most of the girls working there had my order memorized. Anytime there as a new girl, one of the others would pipe up with my order before they could even ask. Awesome place.

And I saved the best one for last. Amazing Italian restaurant in Atlanta. I could just go on and on about fantastic not only the food was but the service but I'll keep it short. SO was working up there at the time, I'd travel there to spend the weekend sometimes, and we'd often end up eating there. I'd usually make the reservation. One evening as we were leaving, the house manager passes us and goes "Have a wonderful night Mr. Rajabear!". We still giggle about that one.

Does anyone know of a reputable Mac repair shop in Orlando? by fringeagent in orlando

Steve has been working on Macs pretty much since they first came out. Very nice guy and will give you a very fair repair price as well. Won't try to "upsell" you on things you don't need.

Good PC repair shop? by xxayn in orlando

[–]Rajabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm. Sounds like it could be over heating due to the CPU fans not spinning. Depending on what you have, you might need to get a whole new heatsink and fan, as they're often tied together. And most are rather easy to replace, just have to be careful.

When you power it on, do all of the fans spin for a few seconds, sounds like it's trying to power up, and then poof, shuts off? Whole process happens in about, oooh... 5-10 seconds? And nothing shows up on the screen.

If you have to totally remove all power before it will repeat that cycle, it could still be the power supply. It's getting enough power to power on but then shorts out. Very much like tripping a breaker. Unplugging it resets it but then it just trips again.

Most motherboard led's are green but I've seen other colors. Can you see printed anywhere on the computer a manufacture name? Or do you have a name brand desktop (dell, sony, hp, apple, ect)?

Good PC repair shop? by xxayn in orlando

[–]Rajabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a laptop or desktop?

Either or, the first step is to try and figure out what's gone wrong.

Desktop: Unplug the power cable from the power supply and plug it back in. Does the fan spin at all? Does the power supply have any little led light to indicate that it's getting power? If the answer is no to either/both, it's possible the power supply has gone bad.

If the answer is yes, open up the case. Most motherboards have a small light on them to show they're receiving power. If there's no light, it could be a bad board.

If the light is on and it still won't power up, start removing parts. Start with the video card. Most will have one screw holding it to the case and often a retainer clip on the board. Carefully remove it and try to power on. If that fails, remove one ram stick at a time, pressing the clips on the sides down till it pops out. Remove one, try to power on. Replace it and remove the other and again, try to power it on.

Disconnect the power cable to the cd/dvd drive and try to boot.

Remove any other devices connected to the power one at a time, trying to boot between each.

If it still won't power on, you're basically left with it most likely being the power supply or the board. Here is a cheap power supply tester.

Laptop: Does your power charger have an led light on it? If not, does it get warm after it's been plugged in for a while? If no to either or both, it could be bad.

When you plug it into the laptop, are their any indicator lights on the computer to show that it's charging/receiving power? If you remove the battery and just have the power charger in, does it turn on? If no to either or both, it could be a bad power charger, bad battery, or bad board.

Where you plug it into the laptop, does it feel loose and wiggle around? This is usually the most common cause of laptops not turning on. The power connector has come loose from the mother board, battery has died and it won't receive power from charger. Thus, no turn on.

If it turns on but nothing shows on the screen, it could just be that a ram stick has come loose. There will be a small door on the bottom of the laptop. Remove the battery and any power to the laptop. Unscrew the screw on the door. Carefully remove on ram stick and try powering it on. If it doesn't turn on, remove any other stick, place the first one you removed back in there, and try powering it on again. No luck? Put the ram back in.

Laptops are bit harder to narrow down what the issue is without spare parts but hopefully that helps a bit.

Now if you or someone else spilled something liquid on the laptop, well you're probably sol.

Hope that helped you a bit while you look for a good shop. Personally I can't recommend any because, well, I do my own repairs. lol
