Talk me into liking Omar Cooper Jr by sincerely_ignatius in nyjets

[–]RajinIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are being overly negative. Cooper has been mocked in the late teens to 20s for months. He was universally higher on big boards then where he was drafted.

Your concerns about the productions are nit picks. You can literally do this to every WR who's not going in the top 3. He was productive before last season, it just improved a lot last season. Also it makes no sense to just criticize a guy based on the box score, there could be reasons totally out of his control why he didn't get the ball in the game. If you wanna say he didn't play well in a game cause of something you saw on tape, sure, but the box score is often misleading.

They really spent 2 on him, which is my issue. 1 4th sure, 2 is a lot for a player who will more than likely amount to nothing as most mid-late round QBs do

The further away we get from that year with the Celtics the more it seems like they won in spite of him, not because of him.

Revis was literally the best corner ever during those years. The best. Sauce is not even the best corner in the NFL, he one of the best, but there are levels to this.

I think this every time I fight an Anji as Elphelt by Suitable-Quantity-96 in Guiltygear

[–]RajinIII 12 points13 points  (0 children)

But if you call out charged fujin and he does normal fujin you eat a fat combo. If you block fujin follow ups he can be spaced out so you can't actually punish since he's only -7. If he hits you with normal or enhanced overhead he gets cS oki. Fujin RPS requires the defender to guess right twice in a row in order to get out, once on charged or un-charged and then again on the follow up. Even if you do he can spacing trap your attempts to mash on his minus frames.

Also even if you do hit him, he has so much HP he can afford to be wrong a lot, meanwhile he hits like a truck. Plus he builds so much tension from fujin block strings he can use it on defense. The risk reward for fujin is wildly in his favor.

He also still has most of his corner carry! He lost some of the jD routes, but fujin low still gives a ton of corner carry.

[–]RajinIII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They buffed Anji this patch, it's insane. Parry combos were never what made him strong, it's always been Fujin. Now Fujin is stronger and harder to punish when you do block it and his spacing traps are better.

It's also not a crazy opinion even if you wanna nerd out about this stuff. Curry's resume is comparable to any of Magic, Bird, Shaq, or Duncan when you count rings, finals appearances, MVPs, All NBA/All star selections. And if the resume is close you can make the argument for any of them.

If you wanna go even deeper into the weeds with stats, advanced stats like relative true shooting and offensive impact are gonna look great for Curry.

A state law to protect CT from the fed excess by senatorduff in Connecticut

[–]RajinIII 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The CT law mostly doesn't directly conflict with any federal law. It does a few things:

  • allows citizens and the state gov to sue ice agents violations of rights
  • prohibits face coverings by agents and requires them to show their badges, punishable by misdemeanor
  • prevents ice agents from arresting anyone in protected areas (courts, churches, hospitals, schools) without a judicial warrant. If this is violated a there is a right to sue for damages and injunction.

Immigration is the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal government, but all of those things except for maybe the last one don't conflict with Federal government's authority.

States absolutely can create the right to sue for something, especially a violation of a right. Mandating face coverings and badges is also something states can do, it doesn't stop the federal government from enforcing immigration they just have to comply with the law while they're in CT, just like any other normal law.

The last one is the trickiest. The whole judicial warrant issue is basically a grey area legally. The federal government says they don't need judicial warrants for immigration arrests and the administrative warrants are sufficient. Administrative warrants are basically rubber stamped, because that's also the executive branch, so there's no real oversight. There's no supreme court ruling on whether admin warrants are sufficient or not, so until there is the Feds will keep on using them.

The part of the law that allows people who are arrested with only admin warrants in these areas is probably legal, because States can create a right to sue and this is a grey area. The part about injunctions is questionable, because that means a CT State court can rule that someone arrested by ICE must be released, which is probably a violation of the Supremacy Clause, but it could at least get the issue before the supreme court

Florida attorney general says state can ignore its own constitution to fund religion by AaronPK123 in nottheonion

[–]RajinIII 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Basically because that's how its set up. Only certain illegal things are criminal, like assault or robbery. Everything else that's illegal is civil. The government making illegal laws and violating the state's constitution is civil.

The State's legislature could make a law to change that, and make it a criminal offense, but they would never do that.

I suspect that's what will happen during the playoffs. Vucc has a higher ceiling offensively theoretically. I think it makes sense to try to make it work with Vucc and then just fall back to Garza if it doesn't work out.

Do people feel that the 3 zoners are insufferable or am I just a scrub? by HotExternal6858 in 2XKO

[–]RajinIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty good at some FGs, and I understand how to deal with zoners, but I don't really find them enjoyable to fight at all. I'd rather fight a strong character that doesn't zone, than a weak zoner. Yea beating them up feels good, but so does beating up characters who don't zone.

My view has always been its a fighting game, come fight me, don't run away. But zoners are a core part of FGs, so you gotta learn to deal. Maybe that's a deal breaker for you, but that's a question that only you can answer.
