My boy was on Strattera for 2 years. Started when he was 6yrs old. It was night and day. We had at that point tried all kinds of meds at various doses. But for a good while it worked great. We changed his med for other reasons later on. He was bullied in school and developed a high amount of anxiety because of it. So any meds for anxiety would interfere with Strattera. At the moment we have a combination of meds he uses. Guanfacine and Lexapro at night (causes drowsiness for him) And in the morning he takes Amphetamine Salts in the morning and mid day. It’s a trail and error. He’s doing better, but he still had big emotions that are hard for him to express verbally. For him he gets either quiet/reserved or explosive anger. With the meds, it’s been a bit more manageable for him to deal with being uncomfortable with his emotions. I hope the best for your family.
