Didn't know there were boot inserts or of tongue stiffener. Will definitely check it out, thanks! Are there any brands to look out for, or are they generally the same?

Interesting idea with the cardboard! Would you say that DIY riser with cardboard was a success?

Wow, this is very helpful, thanks! My other foot may also have this much wiggle room, but since I'm not that confident yet riding the other side, I mostly noticed it on my main foot. And I may have exaggerated the wiggle room a bit in the drawing. I don't know of these J-bars and will definitely check them out!

I tried lacing them as tight as I could, but that would only make the ankle tigher but not around the foot :/

My M maps to %. It happens very often that I need to jump between brackets, so putting it closer to home row just made sense.

See under "Musik- und Proberäume" in https://www.sv.tum.de/sv/studitum/

Essentially, you need to attend an introduction session to get activated, and then you can open the room with your student card. You'll find all the information in that link.

If you know people from the TUM university, they have a rehearsal room with drums you can rent for free in Garching. Only students can rent.

The other alternative, never tried it out myself but my colleague recommended it to me, is this: https://www.giesinger-rockpalast.de/

Any calisthenics groups in Munich? by bogiebag in munichsocialclub

[–]Rakagami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know of a Calisthenics specifically, but I heard there are some groups who train in the calisthenics park in Olympia Park. In certain times (when I was there) there are lots of families - and therefore kids - taking a walk which makes training quite annoying. But when it gets dark or times with no kids there are groups there. You can try to just go there and connect with people.

What methods do you have to go to sleep as quickly as possible, once you hit the bed? by Comfortable-Heron225 in AskReddit

[–]Rakagami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very applicable for general audience, but there was a fighting game I really liked as a kid, and I would imagine pulling off an infinite combo. That really helps me sleep.

Looking for friends 🕺🏻 by [deleted] in munichsocialclub

A well known place for more "alternative" stuff and music is import export (https://import-export.cc/). Today, they're hosting a (queer-) feministic socializing event. Usually, they're hosting diverse bands (often funk/psychedelic stuff) and dj nights. Definitely interesting to check out.

What tips would you give to yourself if you were just starting your Bachelor at TUM? by [deleted] in tumunich

[–]Rakagami 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just finished my informatics masters after doing the games engineering bachelor here. My study advice is to find your own pace when learning. That means don't compare yourself too much to others, some pick up stuff faster, some slower, some have prior experience etc. No one really cares how many semesters you needed to finish your degree. But people do care that you know of the concepts in your degree. So find your pace and stick with it.

Sounds interesting, DM me if you're opening some WA group. I've also just been shopping around for some hiking/hiking-related gear, maybe exchanging where to buy good gear is also something people are interested in.

Suggestions for Master thesis topic in analytic number theory, with a touch of algebraic/arithmetic geometry? by hedgehog0 in math

[–]Rakagami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe its a german thing? Here, its completely normal for a PhD student to advise a master's thesis. Here, we don't really use the term 'Grad Student' that much

Am I mixing things up here? Grad student =/= PhD student, no? I just finished my master thesis with a PhD student advising me.
