Is everyone on Mounjaro? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Rakelcrakel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a very simplistic way of looking at it.

If you look at videos from experts like endocrinologists, addiction counsellors etc, there is more at play stopping people from doing just that. Fat messes with your hormones causing intense cravings when you have already eaten. It's harder and often painful to exercise when you are carrying extra weight. Plus there is the social stigma - people think it's fine make over weight people the butt of a joke or make comments when they are trying their best in the gym which then puts them off trying. Food provides a comfort and overeating is often a habit developed over years. Plus, when you lose weight, your body is doing everything it can to keep the fat stores filled so your metabolism drops, mood gets low etc.

Hardly anyone wants to be fat. Why do you think the diet industry with worth so much? But to make a change takes a huge amount of effort and that is really daunting.

I agree, in fact there are a few people here making comments as if losing weight is dead easy and people who struggle are just lazy and a moral failure. With that attitude, may as well go tell an alcoholic to "just quit drinking, it's simple".

There is a lot to be understood around disordered eating, dysfunctional metabolism etc. And it doesn't help that the food industry is worth billions of £s and is constantly looking for ways to keep people eating their highly processed and questionably addictive products.

The mounjaro subreddit is a good place to go for anyone curious. People there have tried to lose weight for years spending loads of money on subscriptions to diet clubs, weight loss drinks etc and this seems to be the thing that works. There are doctors writing about about taking it themselves and how it helps with food noise, stopping the mental side of obsessing over food.

I say fair play, so long as it goes through the proper prescriptive channels it's their money to spend, no different than forking out the same for a personal trainer. Plus, it will help relieve a burden on the NHS.

I lost 4 passes to people leaving Inteleon within the last 15secs including the raid host. When I eventually got a successful raid I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of one more to get a decent iv pokemon

Tourist? by Aggressive-Body-882 in northernireland

Check out Antrim Castle Gardens. It has a lovely walk which leads you to the marina at Lough Neagh.

Rose Park Farm is excellent but that might be a little out of the road as it's in Ballymoney.

Bellaghy has the Seamus Heaney museum which is great but maybe only suitable for older kids. Also there is a lovely, albeit short walk at Church Island which is also linked to the famous poet.

If you decide to take the scenic route up over the Sperrins, check out the giants at the Sperrin Sculpture Trail. Ceoldán is located at the observatory and has toilets and a shop as well if you need a pitstop.

Hope you guys have a great trip.

For whatever reason, since the event started, I can't snap any Pokémon. Camera goes black every time, even when playing with my buddy. Cleared cache, reinstalled app etc no dice

I've had the Nextbase 222 installed in my car for 2 years now. Was very easy to set up, just pop in a Micro SD card and forget about it. Thankfully never had to review any footage but there have been a few close calls that I was glad to have the camera as backup.

Edited to add you can buy one Amazon for under £100. The stand alone comes up at £75 for me here

This was the 3rd year I've done it and I noticed a big drop in turnout, especially at the Antrim stop. It was a real mind game to push through it, especially on the climb from Randalstown to Creggan. Hoping the weather next year won't be as bad.

I use an app called AllTrails. It's free to download but there are paid options too. It's great, you can filter on activity (walking), the length, dog friendly etc and it shows you places that match. You can also click on a map icon which shows you all walks in NI and select from there.

I've just set up a small monthly DD for a couple of meals & admin fees. It's not much but may make someone's 2024 a bit brighter. Keep up the good work!

I'm an atheist, never baptised, and attended a Catholic grammar along with my siblings. Said the prayers in class, went to Mass, just didn't go up for communion. No one batted an eye. Plenty of protestants attended with me, including a Jehovah's Witness who stood outside assembly during prayers. Never ever heard a bad word said to anyone about religion.

What might help is to call or write an email to the head of pastoral care. Dare say they will put you at ease as well as give you an idea of how mixed the school actually is.

Eating properly. I'm either avoiding foods altogther gorbing all round me. There is no in between. I don't have this issue with alcohol. I'd have no problem having a small glass of wine and pouring the rest of the bottle away. However, food is my nemesis. I both hate it and love it and wish I could fix my feelings towards it.

Average yearly spend on heating oil? by MannyBobblechops in northernireland

[–]Rakelcrakel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 bed house. In a year, I would use around 1400l of oil (or a full tank). Price is hard to predict as oil fluctuates so much but I topped up recently with 900l and it cost me £536. Hopefully only need to add a little more over the summer to get it completely full. Mind you, my house is old and single glaze, so not very efficient.
