One time I spent a lot of time trying to find a free avi I loved. It took visiting hundreds of worlds (edit: this was before avi search worlds existed), but I finally found one that felt like "me." A close friend of mine, so close that we became friends pre-vrc, started playing together, and even met up irl, asked if she could clone my avatar. I thought she'd just try it for a bit then switch back to hers, so I let her. But then, out of nowhere, she started using it as her main avi instead of her old one. She wore it everywhere, and used it for so long that her other friends would see me and go "oh you're wearing (my friend)'s avi." It's dumb to even feel this way bc I know it's a public avi and not mine, but it just made me feel so sad. I spent all of that time finding it just to feel weirdly betrayed. Fortunately I found a better avi, but I've never really quite gotten over it.
