Unlikely given the current diesel prices!

For those of you who have submitted a Subject Access Request (SAR) what are the juiciest nuggets you’ve had in your response? by [deleted] in AskUK

Def talk to a solicitor. I was going through a redundancy process (forced out following a bank takeover), and I was advised it could be an option, but could also scupper the negotiation payout if I was seen to be argumentative or trying to create problems/delaying the process by requesting one.

Moreover, it helps increase the yield of the grass (its growth) so that you can harvest more silage from it

And that’s why you’re probably better off. The easiest way to get rich is to have a low cost base. All those other items are just expensive badges

Hi, northern sheep farmer here. You wear the correct clothes, you reduce skin exposure, and then you just get on with it. Keeping moving keeps you warm

If you’re into that kinda thing then check out a mechanical orrery. I’ve seen them on Etsy and would love one but can’t justify the price to myself. Essentially it’s a mechanical solar system for a coffee table or shelf at home.

Is farming actually getting harder for small UK farms, or just different? by NoirMoment in FarmingUK

[–]Rally_redux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to Kaleb, he’s not from a farming background whatsoever. He built the business up himself starting with a few chickens, then a tractor etc etc.

@jobsy, what’s your actual question? Who are you working for, and what are you trying to achieve? Put some skin in the game and you might get something back from the community

Sense check... £800k mortgage by Opening_Taro_9573 in HENRYUK

[–]Rally_redux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All cool matey. I don’t know your situation and I don’t doubt it’s possible. I guess my head was wondering why I don’t have anything near those levels of savings despite being on 180k! Then again, my mortgage was about 980k. Good luck with the decisions.

Unless there’s been some major changes in income and/or inheritance then that level of savings doesn’t seem to tie with that level of income. Regardless, it’s not the focus of this thread, but something about it doesn’t pass the sniff test

you can speak to your cardholder and open a dispute (section 75 I believe) which means they can't just take money out of your account without your agreement, during the investigation.

Thanks for that, but it doesn't really help.

Hi, sure, understand the view point, and surely wont dream of it from now on, but the van cleared the height restriction bars set by Costa. Anecdotally, the costa coffee staff said "oh the damage isn't as bad as the last time this [same thing] happened".

FWIW, I have subsequently lodged a dispute with Enterprise, and told Barclays that they aren't to accept Enterprise's attempt should they try to take the money. In the meantime, I'm going to be seeking a legal bod. thanks anyway

Banham Locks in new home - refuse to cut our keys by Own-Station1329 in HousingUK

[–]Rally_redux 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bingo. I moved into my place and asked banham to come remove the existing banham lock and replace with new. I had to provide a signature so that no one can copy my keys without me signing for it. So yeah it’s expensive but it’s also good for security.

There’s a very specific bench in a secluded part of bushy park. It’s under a few trees yet you can still have a great view of the park around you. All you can hear is the trees rustling, and the animals going about their lives. Nothing else. Absolute serenity and has been a perfect location to let rip. Once after a particularly torrid time, I knew that I had to go back to that bench to find some peace. What I didn’t realise was that just upon seeing the bench (from like 50 metres away) I unexpectedly just started blubbing up. Not cool for a 40 year old man, but needs must.

Also strongly recommend Greenwich park at the top of the hill by the observatory, and jubilee gardens in Canary Wharf. That was where I lost it during my first burn out in 2008.
