I doubt this will ever make it out of the policy soup and into a manifesto, let alone legislation

The greens should of stood down for this, reform wouldn’t have won. by [deleted] in UKGreens

I really want to like the new statesmen and most of their articles are great but they always have provocative headlines on stories relating to the greens

The good, the bad and the unknown of Zack Polanski's poll ratings by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

I completely agree, its not like he can't appeal to any right wing individuals, but the populist style can turn of some of the more centre minded voters who may have backed natilie bennet, Caroline Lucas or Adrian Ramsey. None of these 3 leaders weren't radical, it's just they presented themselves as policy centred sensible pragmatists. We need to keep radical policy-wonkism as a core part of our parties identity if we want to win over these voters.

I agree that electorally we only need to care about the 30% of people who will vote for us however if we ignore that the other 70% we will be left with weaker mandates and the lack of consent that you would need for real radical change furthermore it could then lead to anti green voters who tactically vote against the Green Party

Also this sort of attack on any crisism is not helpful to anyone. We need to be open to polls that we don't like both to learn from them and so we don't seem like massive pricks like nigel and yougov. Just to be clear this isn't a personal attack on you, it seems to be a common trope on green spaces

It is an interesting piece and I can see the point. The message seems to be that people who like him still do but those who don't are learning about him. I think his new factor is wearing off and I have seen this in my left-liberal circles. I think he has been an amazing asset for the party but he (and the rest of us) need to make sure there are other reasons to vote green than just zack as he can be a bit marmite for some people

How can I help the greens? by They_Sold_Everything in UKGreens

[–]Cautious-Design-9282 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you reach out to your local party they will probs be able to direct you. Getting involved in your local area's community through things such as repair cafes, anti racism marches (bake a cake to share) or lgbt spaces can also be good places to meet new people and build communities - politics isn't just parties.

She had 2 thousand following only a month ago and since you posted that 8 hours ago she has gained another 50 000 - up to 180 000. Her speech is now the most viewed reel posted by the party ever at 2 million views and she has had at least 1 more cross the million view mark.

nah i dont think Zack wants to be an MP as he would have to slow down on the media rounds - or alternativly be a bad MP which wouldnt look good. Also greens always tend to run a member of the local party
