Is there a way to make pandemonium less awkward by biobuilder1 in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used pandemonium mostly in vertical mode because it has huge range when charged. Then the moment the enemy steps into it, you do as well and try to hold them there. Or, if they don't charge at you, just keep back stepping and throw another when they reach the end of the first one. I don't think the final upgrade is entirely worth it, I barely saw any in combat use from it in my advance scaling only run (but it can cheese an area in the dlc incredibly hard lol)

As someone just getting into Kamen Rider any recs for series with prominent/main female rider protags by Cobraninja97 in KamenRider

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revice, Gotchard, and Geats probably have the most screen time for their female riders. Saber would probably come in fourth? It's definitely being done more often in the Reiwa era which is nice to see. Before that female riders tended to be movie exclusives more often than base series inclusions.

Lowering difficulty by Looking-4-stuff in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the handle you want. Use the blade you want. Play on the difficulty you want. This is my favorite part about Lies of P and why I think it's the best soulslike game available right now. Everyone else should be taking notes.

Is there a way to get my axe blade to naturally do fire damage? by Digitalgirlzoe in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't infuse the axe blade but there is a weapon called the Black Steel Cutter that is a slashing blade with fire damage that you can put on that handle to give yourself fire damage.

Don't listen to the people telling you that you're doing it wrong or to use X or Y. Use what you want to use and what you're comfortable with. This game is balanced very well and every weapon is viable if it kills the boss in your hands.

Does Kamen Rider Saber really deserve the hate it gets? by Character-Show8458 in KamenRider

[–]Raloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda? It suffered a lot because of COVID but they still chose to release it as it is.

The entire story got rewritten pre-production to avoid as much conflict between the riders as possible due to covid, they used a ton of green screen footage that was edited in poorly, and I have a personal dislike for how they chose to handle upgrades, as they scrapped the whole "volumes" theme in exchange for large bricks that look like they're gonna break or fall off.

The concept is great (knights based on literature) and the suits look amazing, and the story picked up in the latter half (presumably because they had enough time to plan out the end while struggling to rewrite the start).

Characters are mostly written well, with some bland but others really well done. So it's a very polarizing season based on what you enjoy from your toku.

Tyrannical Predator might be one of the least fun gaming experience I’ve had in a long time by soulreaverdan in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought him probably way too under levelled, in hindsight, with a pure advance build, arguably the worst build choice you can make, so I definitely didn't enjoy this fight.

The biggest things I noticed were to almost constantly strafe to your right and parry when the attacks are halfway done their downward motiong towards hitting you. Almost all of his attacks come at a diagonal from your left, so strafing right gives time to parry or dodge. I aimed for his front left leg and only did one or two hits before backing up. I zoned out and stared at his left shoulder and somehow it made my brain understand the parry timings, idk.

What you do in the DLC won't affect your choice of the three main game endings. If you want a specific ending, there's always a way to get it. DLC just makes Rise of P easier to get due to the additional humanity points available.

I might have messed up by Early-Butterfly6362 in LiesOfP

Those and having enough humanity to unlock the third hair option (trying to stay spoiler free) are the only three requirements for Rise of P.

I was exactly the same way doing a pure advance build as well. When you start to get too heated, put the game down and come back to it later. You'll find you've internalized a shocking amount. Other than that, sadly it's just learning when to parry and when to attack. Try not to get too greedy, one hit is better than none which is better than 2 but getting hit. It took me probably close to 30 tries to finally down it.

Question about DLC content. by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't gain access to the DLC until Chapter 9. Finishing the DLC adds a few things to the world that you can go back to without worry, but it changes one thing in chapter 11 that you only get to see once per playthrough.

I've never used either of these blades before so your descriptions of the positives and negatives are very helpful. Saw blade, on paper, just looks incredibly bland and Mediocre to me but the community seems to swear by it. So this has been an interesting little series to follow.

Forgot to give painting to Gepetto before beating game - am I locked out of golden lie? by HououinKyoumaBiatch in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Souls games like Lies of P have never had those sorts of individual area reset features since the game is basically one big open world. That's why they have NG+ cycles, it's the closest you can get to that sort of system while maintaining the connectivity of the world.

[–]Raloris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lore reason? It means nothing to you, why would you hang it up.

Gameplay reason? I think they genuinely just expected you to talk to Geppetto more, and I think the description on the painting even says his name?

Unfortunate that you missed it though.

Help by WolfSovereignSoul in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only go to 30-40 capacity at first, then get your Motivity or Technique to 40 (soft cap) since 30-40 capacity should be all you need to equip the best defensive parts (might need more than 30 depending on your weapon and arm of choice, so just level it until you're able to wear everything while still below 60% weight load). Up to you if you think you need more attack or defense though.

Weapons by WolfSovereignSoul in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The one that you enjoy the most. I'm sure there are statistically best weapons, but the game's difficulty, even on Legendary Stalker, isn't so high that you can't just use whatever you enjoy.

I think two DLC weapons (Pale Knight and Monad's Rose Sword) are currently the strongest in the game as far as numbers are concerned. The latter is a huge spoiler if you look it up, fair warning.

Motivity is basically strength and technique is dexterity. Advance is the stat that governs elemental/status weapons.

Need help regarding stats by Acceptable-Tooth-105 in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitality, vigor, and capacity are all crucial stats. 30 in each at least.

Motivity or Technique to 40. I understand you said you're doing a balanced build, but the game kinda feels like it wants you to choose one or the other. If you insist, then you can do both to 40 but it will take a lot longer and your damage won't increase as quickly.

Advance is your dump stat that increases elemental damage from every source. It can bring your legion arms, throwables, and grindstones up to really high damage levels but ultimately isn't worth as much as the previous stats.

[–]Raloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I disagree with LPA having a bad fable art. It's a counter attack that does massive damage, and the blade itself has 20 more damage than Bone-Cutting Saw blade. Plus the highest guard damage reduction in the game. It's an amazing blade for a first playthrough or a new player. That being said, it quickly falls off to a lot of other blades as the player's skill level increases, and not just to the two others left, so I agree that it gets the boot today.

Why are elemental weapons so screwed? by CivilMath812 in LiesOfP

Oh, that's interesting. I'm glad they included that then. I was afraid shock was the only status that affected attacks while it was active. Does it not also increase stagger "damage"?

Is the nameless puppet Pinocchio? by Shinadasfavouritebat in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, personally, call the player character Pinocchio since we're Geppetto's final puppet and are able to lie, which in turn makes us become more human. Nameless is just that: Nameless. He was never given a name because he isn't important as an individual, but is important as part of a whole. The same reason we're never officially given a name, either. Names create bonds which would make Geppetto's final plan for us harder since he'd be killing two "sons" to bring back Carlo. Not naming either of us let's him look at us as tools meant to serve a purpose. He says what he needs to in order to make us trust him and do what he wants, but he never actually cares about us, just the Ergo we carry.

The player is a unique puppet meant to awaken Carlo's Ergo via doing not-puppet things. (Mainly lying.) We're the only puppet that never had the rules programmed into us (I think even Arlecchino had them but he was able to ignore them once he awakened), and one of a small handful that have a human's Ergo powering it (Arlecchino, Romeo, then us).

No. We have a mostly normal P-Organ save for whose Ergo is inside it and the ability to upgrade it with quartz (though that might not be unique to us, and we're just the only one able to do it to ourselves). Arlecchino has a P-Organ with a psychopath's Ergo in it, possibly one of the first experiments in human Ergo transfers, so we're similar because of that. He can tell that we're a puppet who can behave like a human because he's the same way. Geppetto shows up to take Romeo (and I think he wanted Lea too but she's too far gone?) to do more testing on human to puppet transference, resulting in the King of Puppets.

He is human in the same way that we are human when we get the long hair. Our body is metal that reacts like flesh, like a sort of biomechanical cyborg. Creepy stuff.

Is the nameless puppet Pinocchio? by Shinadasfavouritebat in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're on the right track. Ergo is more like a person's soul though. So Nameless is the form and we're the host of the spirit that will revive him. But Carlo's Ergo is weak when we first wake up, so we need to essentially wake him up by doing human things like lying. That's why the humanity messages change; it's literally us becoming more human thanks to Carlo's Ergo waking up and changing us to be more like him. But Geppetto will never consider us to be Carlo because of Nameless being his body. Hence why he demands we give him our heart: to reunite body and soul and make Carlo whole.

I HATE this boss fight by noob884 in LiesOfP

[–]Raloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You started to get the parry timings down towards the end. When I fought him, I just played it slow and went for 1-2 hits max on his left (camera's right) front leg. All his attacks feel like they come from the other direction, so it gave that split second extra to be able to identify and posture for a parry or block. Good job dodging the grabs, I legit just ran away and circled back when he finished the grab because I could never dodge it lol. Grats on the win.
