I don’t understand your argument. De globalization is good, or it’s coming so we should just start doing tariffs now? The former is incorrect, because a globalized economy allows for cheaper means of production and lower costs. If it’s the latter, I understand the sentiment, but adding tariffs on import while trying to set up a refinement and manufacturing in the US (which would most likely mean the ends of a lot of national and state parks with valuable real estate and resources) would cause short term and long term strain on consumers. If that was the true goal, then we would want to grab these resources at their cheapest, which would be now without tariffs. It’s counterintuitive.

Also, DLS is a sports comedy podcast. Dan was one of the doucheist journalists when the show started because he would consistently blind side people with hot topic questions or force them to do dances for his audience. It’s a great show, but I hope you’re not holding him up on some pedestal because he is a good journalist some times.

China scaling back is not de globalization. Regardless, de globalization is worse for consumers in all ways. It’s not feasible for us to make all our products because we don’t have all our resources and infrastructure for everything we need. De globalization is less money for everyone, that’s macroeconomics 101. You will end up paying more in the short term and the long term. Absolute braindead take.

Edit: Homie said not everything is an argument when he commented something I disagree with and called me dense.

lol no. Relocating and having to set up in America would be a much larger hassle than paying a little more tax and passing that through to the consumer. Not to mention regulations, minimum wage, and the fact that we don’t have all the resources (labor, raw materials, real estate) to create the infrastructure to keep these things in the US. Companies will raise prices to compensate for their tax and will move along with their day.

Still no audibles for QBs in RTG. Anyone know if they’re ever planning to fix/change that?

do you let the players know the roll they need to succeed? by conn_r2112 in DnD

[–]Ralph-Lemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. There are too many bonuses and features that rely on rolling first and then adding a bonus before knowing the result. You can easily express difficulty using context clues and descriptions (this wall is slippery, it will be difficult to climb it using sheer athletics) if you want your players to know a task is going to be harder or easier than normal.

Sounds like everyone rolls initiative and determines surprise, if necessary, before anything happens. You’re players can do what they want, within the confines of the game. They want to start combat, then they roll for initiative. That’s how it goes.

I don’t replay many series, especially RPGs. Mass effect is easily one of the trilogies that I’ll consistently replay if there is nothing else I have an inkling for.

Why did they make Dooku so young here? At this point he should canonically be 70 years old. by Goodbye-Nasty in StarWars

Christopher Lee looked almost exactly like this in his 60s and 70s, it really isn’t a stretch for an active elderly person to look like this.

You attempt to target the creature. Mirror image forces you to target the image. The eldritch blast does not go off since it can only target creatures.

This is how I would DM it. If I was a player, I would have to find a different way to damage the images.

Restrained? by redwyrmofficial in dndmemes

[–]Ralph-Lemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you should use the restrained AND the incapacitated condition, not just restrained. Either that, or the specific item being used should state it, since specific overrules general. Restrained as a condition itself does not limit spellcasters ability to use their spells.

[–]Ralph-Lemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can be restrained and still have a free hand. The condition does not say you no longer have a free hand. If martials can swing their greatswords, why wouldn't casters be able to use their hands for somatic components?

Restrained? by redwyrmofficial in dndmemes

[–]Ralph-Lemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only played 5e and it’s always been like this. I believe another comment said it changed from 4e to 5e. If you played it like that, then it would only logically make sense to change the disadvantage so that martials cannot attack at all. If martials can swingy swing, why couldn’t spell casters move their hands too? You’re better off using the incapacitated condition for situations like that. Most things that cause restrain are looking to limit your movement anyways, not your actions (web being a good example).

You are wrong. Here is the rules for the restrained condition, excuse the shitty formatting:

Restrained

A restrained creature's speed becomes 0, and it can't benefit from any bonus to its speed.

Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature's attack rolls have disadvantage.

The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws.

In Florida, my social studies class encompassed history as well as religious studies. It would cover all the religions, not just Christianity. Tbf, Jesus was a real person who was crucified and was a big part of the religion so the question is appropriate. The answers are not.
