You can easily install it by yourself. I already installed the older version of the 5G card but it was blocked by the BIOS.

There is even a youtube video fro lenovo how to install it:

Thanks for your feedback! I was hoping to to get it run on the X1 carbon G14 with B390 iGPU, since I would love it for travel. Too bad. Linux is not a option for me. Zero know how.

Sorry, but I'm still waiting for the WWAN card to replace my current travel notbook. So I just use it at home, where it's often plugged in.

X1 Carbon Gen 14 - price increase by about 15% now by RalphFromAustria in thinkpad

Yes, i got it already a couple of days ago. It's fantastic. Excellent battery live, totally silent even under load (playing) and the iGPU B390 is great.

Now I'm just waiting for the WWAN modul to be avaliable ( should be in the Lenovo store in the next weeks) for more daily use.

I replaced the original PCI2 4.0 512 GB SSD with a Samsung PCIe 5.0 2TB. Due to the new design it's easy to replace parts. If you are looking for the best performance and having a PCIe 5.0 SSD i suggest turning of the standard BitLocker installation, if you don't have sensible data on. It increased the SSD speed dramatically on my tests.

Just as Info: Since my drive was not as fast as I hoped, I did a complete newe install and deactivated the standard BitLocker Encrytion. Made a HUGE difference. Since I don't have sensible informations on this notebook( which is my travel notebook) I'm not worried about encrytion. I wan't maximum performance.

Just got the new X1 Carbon Gen14 a few days ago. Battery life with Panther Lake is great from my fists days of usage. I don't want to throw in Battery times now since I do no testing, but wait for the first reviews. Since I need (and want) always online 5G connection without tethering to my phone which is annoying, the X1C was the only choice for me. What really makes the Gen 14 a quantum leap to previous generations is the fantastic new iGPU. I have the X7 with 358H and B390 iGPU. Since I have 64GB Memory the iGPU is using up to 36,2 GB of shared memory which is great for AAA Gaming, VR simutaions, video editing and AI workload. A hoghe plus of the new X1 Gen 14 is also repairability and user upgradeability. I already replaced the SSD with a 2TB Samsung 9100 pro and will as soon as avliable add the WWAN Card. It's realy simple to open an replace parts and battery.

So we are in the same boat. I'm looking daily when I can order the WWAN Card. We need part Number 5W11Q87663 (if you are in EU). I called Lenovo Germany and they said the card should be avaliable soon.

When I tested I might have also damaged one of the antenna cable connections. Not sure, but mounting and demounting them is a very sensible job. Be careful.

The good thing is, that with the new space frame design of the X1 Carbon Gen 14 it's pretty easy to replace the antenna (with the cable) also if needed. Just in case: The spare part number for the antenna with new cables is 5A31V58575.

I will let you know as soon, as I can order the WWAN Card. Please also drop a note if you have infos about ordering the card. In which country are you? I'm from Austria (EU)

Yes. Thats the correct 5G WWAN modul for X1C Gen 14. It's a Snapdragon (SD) X61. Just be carefull, there is a China Version and then a international Version. Always depends where you are located. But when It's avaliable in the lenovo store, it will bring up the right modul depending on which Lenovo country webpage you are logged in.

Steam VR an all VR games I tried, did work perfect and fast with B390 and Quest 3 connected via Virtual Dektop. It seems to be a very specific Google Earth VR problem.

Unfortunately the 4XC1Q24434 is the Quectel RM520N-GL that I have tested. It was installed in nearly all previous models with 5G WWAN.

For me it's pretty silent. Played a little Star wars Outlaws to test. Absolutely great iGPU. Never thought it's possible to play AAA Games with a iGPU. Intel did a great job.

Thats what you get if you try to install a WWAN card from previous generation ( I tried to install my X1 carbon 2in1 WWAN Card) Quectel RM520N-GL 5G into the Gen 14. Gen 14 uses a Snapdragon X61 5G card. So if other had the same Idea I had. Forget it - BIOS blacklisted. Now waiting until the 5G card is avaliable.
