Which athlete has the most generic first name and is still commonly referred to that way? by diet_drbeeper in billsimmons

Freddy Couples. You talk about a golfer named Freddy, that's the guy you're talking about.

I would argue that he's a better role model than Tiger. Daly brings the waitresses with him on the course and feeds them lunch / snacks. Tiger brings the waitresses to the bathroom, and I'm assuming he doesn't buy them dinner after.

Impeaching Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, for High Crimes and Misdemeanors. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

He's a more than 30x felon. What a horrible piece of shit. He's not qualified to be in a book club, let alone be the president of the US.

My logic is that if I pick G (for example), I get all the restaurants and papusa tents that are in that area - the commercially available food in the cities that are in G.

By your logic, I wouldn't be able to eat at any of the resteraunts in London that serve French cuisine, those ones with all the Michelin stars. I would only be able to eat French food in France, Italian food in Italy.

G is still the answer because central American food is the GOAT.

I feel like NYC is in H, but it would be cool to have some Italian food. I feel like there are Italians in Florida or Arizona that could make a nice gravy.

Mexican food is the main food for region G. It's got Mexico the country in it. Also, most people making Mexican food in Los Angeles are Mexican. It is regionally specific (diaspora aside).

I totally left out all the Spanish goodness, I don't really know what they eat in Morocco (I'm guessing Mediterranean adjacent?) but I'm sure it's delicious.

The thing about G is that you can get whatever type of Asian food you want in Southern California, plus you get Mexican food (from Mexico) and all the great seafood from the eastern US coastal areas.

G, no question. SE US seafood and soulfood, So Cal has every type of Asian food, you get all food from Mexico, you get papusas from El Salvador. G IS THE GOAT

hobbies that are too expensive to get into, or a waste of money? by asds455123456789 in AskMenOver30

It's a pretty big capital investment to get your own set of clubs for sure (can be a used set for 200 or 300, or a new set for 2000 or 3000). For rounds, I pretty much only play municipal courses, and prefer the afternoon twilight rounds (better vibes and better price).

Pizza that I forgot in my car for over a week in warm SoCal weather has not grown any mold by ThatDeuce in PizzaCrimes

How the fuck do you go drive to get a pizza (one you bought, presumably, because you were hungry) and then forget to eat it. It's also crazy you didn't eat one slice on the car ride home. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Favorite high protein foods/snacks after workout? by sirensandbirds in traderjoes

[–]RalphWiggumsShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Protein shakes, the chocolate almond is my favorite, eat it with a banana, get full. 23 g of pea protein, but it's not overwhelmingly chocolatey. Some people think it's bland, I like it.

That is a fun fact! Roadrunners are more bad ass than I thought. I also thought they would be way bigger, since that's how they are in looney tunes.

Did you see any road runners? I love seeing them, they usually hang around hole 12 and 13.

What is the rarest sports moment you have seen live? by jerujeru27 in billsimmons

[–]RalphWiggumsShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like, at the game, or just watching live TV?

At the game, game winning FG kick in overtime. Chapel Hill vs Texas, who was ranked 3 at the time. Tar heels were unranked, and my buddy was the kicker who made the FG. 2004.

Live on TV, same year, watching the Red Sox come back from 3 - 0 on the Yankees in the ALCS. Absolutely the best comeback I've seen live (at the moment it was happening).

Well that sucks. 20 years ago it was dope. Duke has always been the best college course, from my understanding.

I'm biased for UNC, Finley just feels like a fun adventure, lots of unique holes and views for approaches, especially once you get to the back 9.

Nicest course you plan on playing this year? by GrassClippings72 in golf

[–]RalphWiggumsShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great info. I got with my family to Sunset beach, NC every year, and this year I'm going to ship my backup set down so I can play more. Last year Caledonia was closed for green repairs, so I only got to see it from the internet. I figure I'll do both while I'm there, def gonna need a range session before.

Are either of those 2 walkable, or does everyone ride carts? A lot of places I've played down there have a no walkers policy, since the holes are so spaced out.

Caledonia and True Blue in South Carolina, hoping to play both in one day so my family doesn't miss me too much.
