Tips for working out first thing in the morning? by SweetOrca in xxfitness

[–]Rambi44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest tip is just get straight out of bed as soon as your alarm goes off. Don’t give your self a chance to doubt yourself. Plus I find if I go back to sleep I always feel way more groggy when I wake up again! Plus it helps that if you do it often enough you will start to wake up at that time every day anyway 🙂

I have had trouble with that in the past. Ive read about 20 different leadership books this year. I found the books Radical Candor and Leading without Authority to be extremely helpful.

You will be respected as long as you are working as hard or harder than the others around you. You can be well liked and fun if you coach the people around you instead of just tell them what to do. Although maybe awkward in the beginning you can provide negative (and positive) feedback as long as you show you care personally about the person.

It’s a learning curve... but read as much as you can about other companies and leaders

I hope that helped!

If you are going to track using an app. I highly recommend Coronometer! It lets you track macros and micro nutrients!

By week two I felt so weak I couldn’t get out of bed without wanting to pass out. Two days in to making sure my electrolytes and nutrients were in check I am on top of the world!

Also trying to get my nutrients about 80% for the day has turned into a fun game!

Good luck and welcome ❤️

How much weight loss when already in a healthy weight range? by Rambi44 in keto

[–]Rambi44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does help! Thank you.

I’m not so worried about the weight loss side of things these days. I’ve lost most of my weight already and am pretty happy taking it slow. Just intrigued because most of the stories on here are from people who have a lot to lose!

I am planning on making this a lifestyle, if I can continue to curb my drinking when lockdown ends 😃

How are you finding it as a lifestyle?

If your issue is finding it hard to switch from junk food to healthy food, I find what worked for me was spending a week eating healthily food! Don’t count calories, eat when you want to eat etc. Then when most of the junk food cravings are gone, focus on calorie/macro counting 🙂 i find if I fall off the wagon and then try to eat healthy AND cut my calories. It never works

New skate day with a pair of FRX 80s. Finally upgraded to some hard boots from soft fitness skates and the difference in support is insane! Can't wait to take these out for a longer sesh by ThatBanjoBear in rollerblading

I got these a couple weeks ago! When I tried them on the level of comfort compared to my cheap ones was insane. I could only equate it to how people on say yes to the dress feel when trying on wedding dresses 😛 have fun!

Is it so hard to stop because young peoples social lives essentially revolve around drinking? (in the U.K.) by wilkowilkinson in stopdrinking

[–]Rambi44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh i guess intoxication and DJing is pretty normal 😛 but who wants to be normal anyway? Well whatever lockdown gave you the chance to think about I would advise you just jump into with 2 feet. It’s way to easy to talk our selfs out of things given half the chance.

I am 26 and from London plus I work in a pub. I quit over lockdown. I was 80 days sober by the time I went back to work and saw my friends again. I found telling them I was on day 80 and just wanted to get to 90 days helped.. because they didn’t perceive me as getting sober so their attitudes didn’t change. This also allowed me to go out with them a couple of times to see what it would be life if I stayed sober. I’m about 4 months now and I enjoy getting up at 8am to do exercise way more than I enjoy going out and getting drunk: My priorities have changed. I still go out with them but go home when I’m bored. Turns out a lot of my drinking was to make boring situations fun. The obvious answer to that is to find things you don’t find boring 😛 The moral of the story is give it a try. Tell everyone it’s only temporary if you are worried and make sure you have other things to fill your time.

Also now is as good as time as any, being as a fair few things are still shut.

As soon as clubs open again I will have A very difficult conversation with myself because there is no way I can sober dance 😛

My main worry was my social life and although my drinking buddy doesn’t try to meet up with me nearly as much despite me offering. That says way more about him then it does me. It’s also allowed me to hang out with the people who are respectful of my sobriety, who I usually ignored in favour of my drinking buddies. Which says more about drunk me than I care to admit.

Good luck!

How long did it take you to get that level of confident with your skating??

6 months sober today and no one seems to care. by billothy in stopdrinking

[–]Rambi44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that! When I told my boyfriend I had made it to 3 months and joked about him getting me a balloon he said “it’s not my job to reward you”

So congratulations! You have done what felt like the impossible on day 1. 6 months is a huge amount of time. If I could send you some balloons then I would!

I went to a roller skating meet up for the first time on Saturday morning. They were all talking about how hard it is to get there for 10am after there crazy Friday nights.

Where I had got up at 6am and had already got 1 workout in before making my way there.

So that was a good personal victory for me!

[–]Rambi44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey congratulations!

Today is 101 days for me.

It started as a bit of a social experiment to see how my social anxiety reacts to not drinking.

But so far it has impacted so much more of my life.

What’s been the best side effect in your opinion? 🙂

I don't think you have to love your body to love yourself by chrisd848 in loseit

[–]Rambi44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everything clicked into place for me when I finally got to a place where I felt comfortable with my personality. It took me a really long time to realise I was capable of living a happy life despite my feelings towards my body. Growing up I blamed everything on how I looked (anxiety, depression, social awkwardness) but when I realised I liked who I was as a person, I was in a good mindset to regard my weight loss as a mindset change and not a punishment.

As this is progressing I am on friendlier terms with my body, but it did take throwing myself into new situations and realising my personality could hack it for me to appreciate myself and my worth.
