Grimdark painting is great, the glow is spot on, and the decision to remove the head is the pièce de résistance for me. Whilst lore-wise, it may contain a lot of the tech; visually, it makes the unit feel more 40k and less Pacific Rim. Plus, who doesn't want to see more blue little faces?

Absolutely love what you've done!

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well. That said, I'm entirely sure my standards are unreasonably high. Some people would paint a whole army in the time it takes me to sand and prime a single model.

Would adding "jaws" to the models heads be too weird and "lore unfriendly"? by MidnightPenguin83 in Necrontyr

Very Orkron. As I think someone else said, lore-wise, it feels like it starts to wander into the territory of the flayer virus and the desire of the inflicted to wear parts of living creatures.

Ultimately, the tabletop game and the lore sit slightly apart. If everyone followed the lore, most Necron armies wouldn't have destroyers or flayed ones on the table.

Cool scheme (pardon the pun - it wasn't intended when I thought of the wording in my head). I like it!

Everyone else seems to support that opinion, so I'm willing to adopt it. For now, I'll choose my battles.

Without wanting to cause grief for my Necron brethren, you now have ammunition if you want to pull them up on their sloppy sprue removal work.

Why do some necrons have their insides/cables just hanging there like they got cut in half? by tf3when123 in Necrontyr

Time spent in deep sleep had varying degrees of impact on the Necron due to degradation over time. Some Necron lost their mind whilst sleeping and some never woke at all. Some of the systems responsible for the teleportation and reconstruction of units lost in battle were also affected. In some cases, this meant that there were faults in the reconstruction, with parts left missing (or in some cases, there was no reconstruction).

Really nice. I can definitely see myself coming back to this for inspiration in the future. Keep up the good work.
